Throwing an intentional one like that at the end of a clinch right to the base of the skull is completely different than an incidental one that occurs through unfortunate angles and timing. It's a dangerous punch. Briedis' reaction was a bit too far (and thus a deduction and 5 minute rest were warranted), but I also think it's unfair to flat out DQ the guy who retaliates and reward the fighter who started with boxing's equivalent of the flagrant foul.

That he initiated with that rabbit punch and then overacted the elbow reeks of floppery, and that's not something that should be rewarded. Briedis is, nonetheless, a dirty SOB himself so I'd have no qualms with those rooting for the KO Doctor to administer a treatment to him.

That was an intentional rabbit punch by Glowacki and it was a pretty hard one. Briedis is wrong to retaliate, but Glowacki was dirty and I don't feel bad for him.

Briedis caught Glowacki legitimately. What happened after that was the ref's and DAZN's fault. What kind of shitty bell are they using? It doesn't sound like traditional bell, more like a stupid ice cream truck bell. Neither of the fighters heard the bell so you can't blame them. It seems like the ref didn't hear it either.

What a mess of a fight. Nobody walked away clean, but don't blame this on Briedis. Glowacki started the bull**** and everyone finished. Briedis still KO's Glowacki in a rematch.

[url]Rock0052[/url], still rabbit punches are thrown with the gloves, not with the elbow, elbow have no part in boxing and it`s a complete forbidden and should lead to straight DQ if the elbow land flush and hard, as it was in the situation.
Also watch the replay Glowacki stop the punch at the end and that rabbit punch land very lightly. Yet a still punch for which he would recieve a warning. But you can`t counter that with Elbow.
And the biggest problem is the rabbit punch land just before referee calls stop, and the elbow land long after the command stop from the referee. You know how big of a difference that is ?
Following by the rules the rabbit punch will give you a warning or 1 point deduction, but it`s still a punch thrown with the right body part, you get that? Yet Elbow have no business in boxing and lead to straight DQ. It`s absolutely the same as hitting someone with a knee or with a kick to the head.
Also the elbow that Briedis land was with a turn and a big power behind it - straight DQ.
I zero care who won the fight and i think Briedis is the better man, but that was a straight b.c. result and Briedis should have been DQ.
If they not overturn the result, this would be a travesty.

 

Byrd needs to be sanctioned. The game is well above his talent level.

He never should have been in that ring with two strong CWs.
