Exactly. It's much easier to be on the attack in boxing.

Everyone is offensive? Not everybody does hurting.

Again being offensive requires power chin stamina heart will.

You don't just go out there and start getting knockouts.

What's with this "hurting" stuff? Who wins is not based on who does the most hurting. Provodnikov beat the hell out of Algieri and Bradley and lost both fights.

And you can't just go out and start slipping punches.

If a guy is seriously hurt then he probably doesn't win that round. You can slip 10 punches in a row but if the 11th is a flush shot that totally rocks you that's bad.

I agree with what you said but still maintain that it takes more skill to be a great defensive fighter than a great offensive fighter. Your position and my position are not mutually exclusive.

Who's to say which particular skills are better than others. That's rather subjective, isn't it? Perhaps it's more a case of you personally admiring the skills of great defensive minded fighters more.

I didn't say which skills were better, I was talking about which skills are harder to learn. Perhaps you should reread my posts.

no, they're both attributes that can be worked on. no amount of practice was gonna turn froch into a defensive wizard.

That's why Pacquiao is a weak ATG- Terrible defense
That's why Floyd is a weak ATG- Terrible offense
