    Bit surprising this, Don King just announced this fight for January 29. Does this mean Canelo vs Makabu is off?

    Fight will happen in Ohio, W.D. Packard Music Hall.

    This fight was in the works before the Canelo nonsense.

    I like both these guys and think Makabu, but I am voting for Mchunu. He is my favorite upset artist and I would love to see him win a belt. Maybe they can have a great series.

    And rightfully so. Clenelo aka Mr Net Worth of $140m was trying to jump the queue and leapfrog the WBC mandatory challenger who earned his position by racking up four wins on the spin, a fight which FTR had already been made, and steal food off the plate of a starving hungry Mchunu.

    Makabu is WBC cruiserweight champ. Mchunu is a good win some, lose some type contender with wins over Eddie Chambers, Dennis Lebedev and Tischenko, but some puzzling losses.

    Besides being good fighters it is a good style contrast as Makabu is a big puncher with limited skills, and Mchunu has a awkward boxing style, but doesn't like tough trench fights.

    Good fight and enjoy.

    Mchunu is the better boxer, the problem is that he is small. Makabu is not a legit champion. He won his title in one of the most corrupt recent fights.

    Damnit this is as far from where I am in Ohio as possible. However it is Don King somehow doubt the fight happens.
