Yeah warren probably won't make as he see that murray isn't a blown up SFW like all khan over fights he geniune lightweight and will cause khan problems all nght. I will definately go to that fight at the MEN North west derby.
Congrats to Murray. He just showed how good he is. That was the kind of performance that gets ppl talking about Khan v Murray. And talking. And talking. You let these fights simmer, until they are worth more money. (IMO) Khan will get the Cook-Arthur winner & whoever Frank W and matchmaker Dean Powell bring in to develop Khan. Murray has the pick of the Thaxton-Melero EBU winner, Fewkes, Gethin...Sky and Hennessy should build him into a star, turn him into a commodity. Stopping Meager like that puts him up there in Europe. Khan has ignored Europe. Will Ring mag call Murray the most protected lightweight in the world in next year's State of the Game?
Khan's opponent for September hasn't been named yet but would be extremely surprised if it was Murray. Perhaps if he'd lost tonight or won in poor style.... Anyway, credit to Murray for a great performance. Been hard work fighting his corner on here at times - really pleased for him after all the harsh criticism that has come his way.
Come on Murray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:happy Khan NEEDS to fight the top British guys before he talks about world titles, as Murray said in the post fight interview. Since Khan turned pro he has slagged off three British fighters that i know of:- 1. Graham Earl 2. John Thaxton 3. John Murray Yes he demolished Earl, but he has spat his dummy out over Thaxton and in an interview i read he said he doesnt need to fight Murray as when they sparred he toyed with him:roll: Murray replied that he has never even been in a ring with Khan and it was infact his brother who sparred Khan. Murray then said he would fight Khan anytime, as he said tonight. Khan needs to pull his head out of his arse, there are two intriguing fights in Thaxton and Murray before he even contemplates fighting for a world title.
I knew Murrays recent performances were down to him not being able to get up for the fight's. I've never forgotten how good he's looked at times in the past. Murray is a proper TV fighter! No nonsense, poker faced, all business, tough and puts some nice shots together when he's on form. He's an old school fighter. A hard worker and he's got the style and power to Hurt Khan imo. :good
i'v been very critical of murray in the past and i'll give him credit for taking care of business 2nite he has a decent shot at wrecking the khan bandwagon
Jeez, the way you guys are talking you would think that Meager wasnt shot to ****, which of course he was. I dont rate Murray, but predicted on ESB that he would beat Meager in the mid rounds, & thats exactly what happened. Dont believe the hype. Thats my message to the Murray bandwagon jumpers. Anyway, can anyone tell me what Meager had done to deserve a british title shot again? After all Thaxton won every round against Meager last time he challenged for the title. Joke fight if you ask me.
Khan needs to fight Murray, and if he doesnt it needs to be against a genuine decent top test, like David or Julio Diaz.
I think Amirs next oppenent in September should be John Murray, Amirs proved himself against good British fighters but I think from last nights performance Murray could be a very tough opponent for Amir. He has a very good defense, comes forward all the time and can definetly bang. I felt some of the shots Meager took and not taking anything away from the lad who put up a valiant effort but he got absolutley battered. If an old Gomez stepping up a weight can put Amir on his arse then I think Murray definetley can.
