I just can't see how Floyd would want to fight Martinez. Risk/$$$ ratio has always determined how Floyd chose fighters and went about business. Unless Floyd changes his whole boxing business philosophy this fight won't happen.

If Cotto beats Foreman, I think he is a sure shot for Mayweather in 2011. More reward and far less risk. It's a perfect Mayweatheresque option.

Yeah, would he and how? Running back and forth like the soccer player that he used to be and then exploding str8 lefts or right hooks? C'mon guys, this guy had the style to explore angles and beat a very one-dimensional Pavlik... He would have to trade with Shane the way Margo did, actually Margo possibly beats Martinez ass again at 154! There I have said it...

Of course he's strong either at 154 or 160 pounds but he's not a crafty boxer so that probably answers the question.

OK so you love Martinez and don't care for Mosley's accomplishments. Then, I will say that I like Martinez but that he is a slightly above average guy who has had the strength, the coldness/smartness and the will to have the success at SWW and MW. Now Martinez in 2001 or 2003 or 2004 against either ODLH or Winky? Get outa here.

He sounds like trouble. The shoulder roll wont like that reach or the fact that the punches will be coming from over the shoulder.

This would be very competitive, but when i watch sergio, i get the feeling Mayweather would land his right hand cleanly quite a bit while taking away sergio's left hand. But then again, the size difference, sergio's movement, and his quick jab would give Floyd fits. It's a great fight - definitely more competitive than SSM.

Does anyone else see Floyd moving up to 154 permanently after he schools emmanuel pacquiao? There's nothing else at 147. All the 140ers will only be STARTING to sort out whose the top 140er by the time Floyd beats emmanuel, so waiting for THE man to come out of the 140wars isn't an option. 154 will be where Martinez, Williams, Cotto, and Margarito are at.

Sergio has a 1 inch reach advantage.. (according to boxrec).

I don't see anything particularly great about this guy apart from being bigger and a southpaw. That doesn't mean he's going to beat Floyd. His skills are solid but their not elite level. It sounds like the Floyd fans want this fight more then FLoyd - Pacquiao, which is peculiar.

I guess Floyd will have to move up after Pacquiao embarasses him. Either that or retire. I don't favor anyone but Pacquiao to beat Floyd. Martinez and Williams might have a shot, but he'll never fight Williams and Martinez would be an underdog.

Are they going by ARM LENGTH?

Floyd's reach is 72", and Sergio has a 76" inch.

oh ****, nevermind I was looking at sergio mora's profile.

in that case yeah he would give Floyd some issues. I still wouldn't favor him though.

 Damn Quartey! That was really a stretch! Are you that deluded in your Mayweather hatred?!?!

As far as the "ducking" is concerned, many people feel like Sergio at 154 is a tougher fight than Pac at 147. Clearly not a "duck" on the part of Floyd as he definitely stands a chnce at losing this one.

I think he'd get a lot of respect for fighting Sergio. I could, however, be wrong.
