I agree that Bute would have a long night if Glen got him to fight HIS fight. Range & footwork will determine Bute's survival success and, by the same occasion, his ability to score big on Johnson.

Looks like Bute is anticipating this to be a 12rounder.... which is good. I'm not sure if he really had looked to specifically stop an opponent, but let the opportunities present themselves in time.

If Bute is looking to truly define himself, he'll need to create opportunities that results to a KO/stoppage, and not a decision. Nevertheless, Froch wasnt able to stop The Road Warrior either, so *****-ass haters need not to hold a double standard to Bute.

Bute will need to keep up on his footwork and not linger in the pocket or let Johnson phonebooth him extendedly, or linger on the ropes. He will need to continuously circle to his right to take away Johnson's power right.

When covering up, he'll need to be especially attentive to Johnson slipping to the right and broadsiding his head, like he did to Allan Green lawlz... or it may be a short night. Whatever the case, Johnson's attack should test Bute's chin thru the evening.

Glen Johnson is definitely a quality opponent. Coming off of a pretty competitive UD loss to Froch, Froch seemingly the hot topic of the SuperMids currently. If Bute gets a KO on Johnson, that seriously one-ups Froch and give Bute some good street creds, though not wholly validating him as the DOMINANT SuperMid currently.

This is a good step-up for Bute, who's been dominating B caliber competition. I believe Showtime snagged a television contract with him for the next couple years, and was looking to get him matched up to the Super6 winner of their tournament.

How intimidating is a Bute fight inside the Boxer's world? Andre Ward said it all, when the ever-confident boxer basically said he'd rather see Bute fight one of the other fighters he had beat before tackling Bute himself lol... doesn't sound so confident huh?

 

I expect Bute to move but also to make Johnson go backwards. I could see that in his public training, with his coach. His coach was hitting him for real and Bute was firing back with combos. I think Bute will be in Johnson's face all night. He won't run away. He's there to make a statement and for that, he needs to stop Johnson from pressuring him. If Bute is going forward, what could Johnson do? He knows only one way: forward. He doesn't know how to fight backwards and his right hand won't be as powerful if he can't sit on it.
