Great win vs kotelnik. Easily his best to date. But he did fade late on and it would be this which would cost him imo vs prescot.

Didn't prescot just do that? Beat a hot prospect on the up? The same prospect we discuss now?

Out of his options which are basically prescot or a domestic dust up, I can't think of a better fight than prescot.

Regarding the ill prepared comment, bradley hasn't fought anyone with khan's style either. That is what sparring is for.

Khan was a KO waiting to happen anyway, he walked into too many punches back then. That was one of the main reasons he was being hurt regularly in my opinion. I was on holiday when he got knocked out by Prescott, I heard it on the news over there...and it honestly didn't surprise me.

It's clear his conditioning and body shape have improved...Maidana in with the naive Khan who Prescott knocked out, same result.

Luf, so you do not think that conditioning plays a role in punch resistance? How many k.o.'s has Prescott got since Khan? If you know the answer to this then you must concede that Prescott's power is overrated and Khan's conditioning at 135lbs was a huge factor in his loss. This has since been addressed.

Do you also completely ignore the Roach factor.

I don't honestly class that KO victory as impressive, it was a naive Khan who was always going to walk onto big shots, and a decent puncher in Prescott had a field day. But it's also one of those victories that keeps getting better.

Maidana has fought at a higher level, coped with styles better, and knocked out all-round better guys.

Even if he faded late against Prescott, Prescott will have already ran out of ideas by the time that had happened...basing this solely on his recent performances, and how ordinary he looked.

But yeah, see what happens. :good

Well this is exactly the debate my friend!

Was it conditioning, a lucky punch or was it a clash of styles?

You night notice the names I mentioned in barkley and mayorga, both failed to knockout any significant in the aftermath of the big victory they had.

As a boxer, prescot is clearly nothing special. We all know this due to his poor showing vs the multiple styles he has faced. But one thing he does have is not only a mental edge, but also a destructive ko victory.

Perhaps khan will never be able to beat a knockout puncher, perhaps he can do.

All I know is I will be surprised and impressed if he can beat prescot in any fashion.

Either way he demonstrates heart and discipline, perhaps even power and a killer instinct.

There are better fights now, but not many. By my reckoning only a victory over juan marquez, victor ortiz or andre berto would be better than a victory over prescot right now.

If khan can prove he has the style to beat prescot, he is a better fighter than I currently rate him.

As a sidenote i did expect him to destroy maidana, I won't overrate him again.

McCloskey is better then Prescott but I understand his fan's wanting the rematch. Khan would stop Prescott he is a different animal uner roach.

I am not criticising it, I am observing. I believe that tendency to tire would cost him dearly vs prescot.

And if prescot knocked out khan he would be seen as a major player. Does khan have the style to beat prescot? I think not.

Disagree strongly about paul. It is a great opportunity for him, but there is miniscule benefit for amir.

Really? He burst onto the scene vs witter in a hard fought victory. He unified with holt and has had a ww fight before defending vs peterson. Khan beat kotelnic, defended vs paulie and maidana. I have left out meaningless fights.

The two are not far removed. Neither have encountered the other style.

I say it makes the the fight all the more intriguing.
