This fight probably won't happen, as Williams is likely to face Pavlik or even Martinez again and seems to see his future at 160, even though he could clearly still make 154. However, this is a hypothetical thread, so call it as you see it if it did somehow happen. Sugar Shane looked very big and strong at welter blowing away Margarito (far easier than Williams beat Margo). Williams looked comfortable at 154 stopping Verno Phillips. Williams by wide UD. He hates anyone with a decent jab and Williams is smart enough to keep using the stoick. Plus Mosley has plenty of off-nights.
I think it would either be a Mosley KO or a Williams decision. Considering some of SSM's past performances at 154, I can see Williams jabbing and moving to a UD. But considering how powerful Mosley is, I can't see Williams taking his best shots and remaining vertical, even though the Punisher's whiskers are decent. Would be a great fight. I'd rather see it happen than Williams vs Pavlik to be honest.
i wanna say williams by points, but if mosley stays consistent and can tie williams up where actually and surprisingly williams can have the advantage on the inside, mosley can knock him out. i am positive that the winky paul fought is not the same shane fought and i think shane might get outboxed by williams jab, but his experience and craftiness will get him thru. i think mosley has superior firepower to williams as well at this point and is an excellent finisher. i say mosley tko late rounds over williams. it's gonna be alot like leonard hearns I
