Makhmudov is not a world beater

I mean Kabayel is not that much younger than Fury, hes 34 this September, Fury is 38 this August.

 

Different styles to be fair. I think Kabayel would give Fury a lot of issues and is one of the very few who could stop him, but I wouldn't go so far as to say Kabayel is on a level above just yet.

In saying that though you're probably right lol

 

When I first saw Makhmudov I thought he might progress into a more dangerous fighter. He went the opposite direction, so help me he could be worse now than when he had about 5 fights.

 

Makhmudov was terrible he literally had zero boxing skill. I will say his chin is strong, he was willing to fight and his waistline was good, he at least maintains shape. Skill wise though he was worse that Big Daddy Browne.
Basically looked like a gym Rat that likes to bar room brawl. Nothing more.
I did not realize he was this bad, I should have watched more of him, you could take an NFL middle linebacker give him a month’s training in the ring and get type of performance.

Whyte was a Top 5 contender and no, I don't think Mak is better than Dillian, even 2022 version of him.

 

Nothing he did in the Povetkin fights leading up to the Fury fight (the last of which was over a year prior), the Fury fight itself, or subsequent fights, suggests to me he was an actual top 5 by that time period. His prime ended 2, 3 years prior IMO, around Rivas, then Povetkin finally cracked his chin for good.

Mak and Whyte also shared a common opponent in an old Wach about two years apart, with Mak faring much better.

Whyte stuck around the rankings due to historical successes and waiting literally years for his WBC mando shot. I just don't think there's much between 2022 Whyte and current Mak.
