Makhmudov signs with Golden Boy

    The promoter of the Russian boxer Arslanbek Makhmudov, Eye of the Tiger Management, announced Monday to have concluded a partnership with the American promoter Golden Boy Promotions in order to offer the opportunity to his protégé to break into the United States.

    "We really believe that this association is a guarantee of success and have no doubt that we will manage to crown a heavyweight world champion together," commented EOTTM President Camille Estephan in a press release. The latter also ensures that Makhmudov (10-0, 10 KOs) will fight on Quebec soil at least once a year.

    "I am confident that with such a team, Eye of the Tiger Management and Golden Boy Promotions, I will reach my goal of becoming world champion," said Makhmudov.

    The date of Makhmudov's first duel on American soil will be revealed soon, says EOTTM.

    Makhmudov looks like he has potential. Would need to see him in a tougher fight or two to see how far he might go.

    Finally!!!!

    do I think he will win world title? Probably not, do I think he can be outboxed by more fleet of foot and skilled operators? Probably.

    but do I think he will bring excitement brute power and ko’s ? 100 ****ing percent.

    Finally!

    Makhmudov is where Beterbiev was around 2015/2016 until he got his big break and became world champion.

    This guy is pure firepower.

    I'd love to see him against Miller, just to erase Miller out of the HW scene.

    Good news, I’m sure he’ll bring us a few interesting fights although his skills are iffy.
    His overall movement sucks but he keeps his composure under fire which is not something you see often at HW these days.

    The HW division should get very interesting in the next 18 months.

    Lots of guys in their late 20s/early 30s with nice records and they'll have to fight each other.

    So, he will be fighting on DAZN? Great! That means that after a couple of tune-ups they can match him against Eddie Hearn's up and coming fighters - Filip Hrgovic, Martin Bakole or Magomedrasul Majidov.
