It is odd that hasn't happened.

Unfortunately, I think Larry might have hedged on the "best overall" and named Ali...or Norton.

Iron Mike Tyson at the time Larry fought him was the best fighter he ever fought (who wasn't over six years past his peak, and yeah I mean Ali). Only Holyfield comes close to being as great as Mike was, though at the time Larry fought Holy he (the latter) was just before his prime.

    I second that Ken.
Holmes absolutely hates him with a passion, still after all these years.

Me to. One of the dumbest posts, I've ever seen tbh.

I’m trying to figure out if Larry would put Mercer for best defense or most skilled.

Marvis Frazier would be a lock for best chin.

Holmes: “Ali was my toughest fight, mentally getting in the ring with “The greatest” was its own battle my toughest in fact. Then I kicked his ass! If he was the “greatest” what does that make me? I didn’t even lose a round”

Best overall goes to Ali. Unbelievable to everyone Larry survived and went on to destroy “the greatest” and not lose a round and yet he gets no respect? SMH

Best Chin: Trevor Berbick. I hit him with my full powered drop kick and he was still standing, so I give him best chin.

No, Berbick heads the list with Tyson as guys who would get no respect under any circumstances. Add Butterbean too.

Earnie may have hit harder when comparing home run swings, but Tyson was the better puncher, the more effective and craftier puncher, who knocked out better fighters.

    Agreed.

Yes. Tyson hit harder than Shavers and Cooney. And more importantly, he was far more accurate.

Best chin definitely goes to Mike.

Does this exercise take into account his personal biases?

For example I think that he might have a hard time giving credit to Tyson, even if he manifestly should have done.

Well, Holmes DID get robbed on that second fight, not many see that fight as even being close.

The first fight I scored for Spinks by two points, and if Holmes is still bellyaching about that...even though I scored it close, Spinks got the upper hand in that fight imo. He never hurt Larry, and a strong case could be made for the fact that Holmes was both the aggressor and landed the more significant punches in that fight, But Spinks outsmarted him, and proved to have by far the fresher, snappier reflexes.

@NoNeck is just teasing, mostly me. It's different from trolling, in that I don't think he means it in a nasty way.

lol! Further proof. He knows he's being funny.
