Pac's win was very impressive. Roach had the perfect game plan and Manny executed it.

This isn't black and white though. Hatton's style has led to him take a lot of head shots over the years. As many of you know, each hard head shot lessens your ability to take the next. Hatton took a lot of very hard shots from Tszyu and stayed on his feet. He has been less resistant to head shots in every fight and the only reason he looked good against Paulie is that Paulie can't hit hard.

Hatton is a great guy and I hope he takes his winnings and retires before he takes anymore shots. I would not doubt is he has already absorbed enough damage to cause him problems when he is older like a lot of fighters do.

Thanks Ricky for a few years of excitement!

Manny, keep it up and beat the **** out of Mayweather if he dares to meet you in the ring!

We didn't say he's invincible. It's only you who said that.
At any given time, Pac can lose. He's human, not a machine. But definitely he's the greatest fighter today, not until somebody topples him.

! Did you see his fight against Malignaggi? Hatton was squirming in pain! Luckily Malignaggi's corner stopped the fight. Nobody thinks that Hatton was too big and strong for Pacquiao even Hatton's fan said that Pacquiao will kick Hatton's ass because he is

And yet Diaz outlasted both De La Hoya and Hatton in the ring with Pacquiao...

Probably not because thats called foul or more likely a low blow, but he would take a lot of leathers in the face though.

    Next Question.

Maybe. But not quite in the manner you are suggesting.

Too many fighters of the past few generations have built gaudy records by fighting bums and novices for their first twenty or thirty fights then by (cherry) picking their step-up opponents only after they have recently been beaten, when they way to beat that particular fighter has been accomplished or demonstrated by someone else, or when that name fighter has reached middle age and is no longer in possession of their prime assets as their youth has since passed. By careful matchmaking you create the illusion of greatness due to the fighter having booked a 30-0, 35-0, or 40-0 type record.

But, the exceptional record doesn't always tell the true story. In fact, it can be quite misleading. Ricky was never elite and when put in the ring with fighters with elite reflexes, vision, athleticism and still in their physical prime he has been found out. He couldn't see Pac's punches and he couldn't avoid Pac's punches. It may certainly be true that his punch resistance is significantly worse than previously but it his lack of elite reflexes, vision, and athleticism that allowed him to get hit. The Hatton that fought KT would have still walked into the same punches by Pac. It is obvious that Hatton was a good overall fighter who had a great career but never a great overall fighter that one might expect based upon a near perfect record in the ring.

Joe Calzaghe is another comparable story. Though a bit more talented than Ricky he is a really good fighter who had a great career but was never a great elite with the highest combination of elite reflexes, vision, and athleticism. He fought a parade of mediocrity pre-Eubank and then no one as decent as that past-peak version of Eubank for approximately ten years after - if not the rest of his career (the exception being BH - who was physically long in the tooth in comparison with his prime by their fight in 2008)). By not facing a single elite talent while in their physical prime Joe was able to complete a long long career in almost pristine physical condition. Based upon his record, you would expect to have witnessed a monstrous boxing talent. But that is hardly the case most generously considered. If he had had to face a few more Eubank level fighters it is doubtful he would have sustained his career with his chin in tact.

In fact, the two 40-year olds (who are legitimate elite fighters) both quickly dropped Joe with right hands that he never saw coming and couldn't have avoided if he had. Eubank's close decision loss in '97, Hopkins' close split decision loss in 2008, and Jones' decision loss in 2008 are all more telling for what would have happened if these fighters had been younger than what they meant as wins on Joe's career ledger.

Apparently, you attribute far too little credit to Pac's moving up multiple (MULTIPLE) divisions especially in light of the many gaudy, manufactured records in professional boxing. It is interesting you mention holding the 126 - 135 - 147 titles simultaneously. Don't you think that Pac has essentially accomplished the same thing 122 - 126 -130 - 135 - 140, at least as close as possible in this much different era (afterall, wasn't Henry Armstrong weighing about 133 when he first won the welterweight title, and this was during the war years when certain consideration to the talent pool has to be taken into account?)?

Pac looks like he has some great fights left to finish out his career. At 140 (if he wants them), there are some (arguably to some) tougher challenges than Hatton such as Bradley, Holt, Marquez, etc. At 147, some real tough challenges (far more than Oscar represented). But, if Pac had fought Bradley (for example) and not Hatton wouldn't a load of folks have started screaming that Pac was ducking the best?

Oh im starting to like this... I haven't owned a person for 1 day now. Because they ran out on the shadows again.

Yeah at least Diaz lasted longer and manage to fought back between the 2.

Dunno, coz Valero's camp ducked Pacquiao already.

If pac beats floyd then floyd will be shot too. If pac beat cotto he will be shot too because margarito done him in. If pac beats mosley then of course people will use mosley age. If pac kills valero then people will say a pack duck mosley, cotto and floyd because valero wasn't a name. No pac isn't superhuman and he can be beaten but man give the guy some respect!
