    Hi

Can anyone think of a fighter that has had to quit boxing due to issues with making weight?

Can anyone also think of any fighters that have been seriously injured in the ring and attributed it to weight making?

Im sure my good friend Billy Nelson know's of someone.

    Many thanks:good

Unknown charlie payton suffered a bleed on the brain on staurday night in Hull 9n the matchroom show. Charlie was a novice and had only compwted 2 or 3 times at lighweight. He then drops 2 weights to feather to box on the show im sure this is something to do with dehydration of the brain

I think most brain injurys happen due to the lack of liquid membrane surrounding the brain

I dont think that is always due to making weight tho i think paul ingle made weight comfortable but due to his style/work rate after a long 10/11 rounds what ever it was and a lot of punishment

I was at a BBBoC trainers seconds licence course in Manchester 2 years ago and there was a young boxer I can't remember his name who had to retire due to collapsing in the ring after a contest and had a brain injury,he said that he was sitting in saunas for 3 hours at a time for 2 weeks prior to a contest

Diego Corrales when he fought Mayweather supposedly had trouble getting down to 130.

Arthur Abraham never ate solids for over a week in his late Middle-weight days.

    There are many more.
