Maksim Vlasov: A Brutal Brumal Wind Blows From The Zhiguli Mountains-The Kill Of Samara Oblast.

Maxim Vlasov born 9-11-1986 is a 6'3.5 Cruiserweight with a 40-2 23 KO's record. Born in Samara, Russia and currently fighting out of Robert Garcia's Gym in Oxnard, California. Maxim is one of many Eastern European fighters that Robert has taken under his wing, he along with Kavaliauskas, Gradovich, and the best prospect of all Oleksandr Gvozdyk are all being trained out of Oxnard, Garcia sees where the potential future stars of the sport are coming from and he's intelligently jumping on the bandwagon. Vlasov is very flawed, he's not a monster puncher like many of his countrymen, he is more of a pure boxer and tends to win on points, however he had his unbeaten record ruined by the tricky Isaac Chilemba, who has a tendency to make everyone he faces look bad. So even in spite of dropping Chilemba twice in the 8th round, he still managed to lose. So in an effort to improve his game he's come to America to train here. So hopefully he can fix the holes in his game and become yet another Russian player at LHW. So Check Out The Kill because he definitely goes for it.


Postscript, since doing this thread, Vllasov who claimed he struggled with the altitude against Zurdo Ramirez, dropped a close decision to him, but since then has moved up to Cruiserweight and is becoming quite the force, choosing to go out and bang. His power like Bellew, seems to have improved somewhat, scoring him the best wins of his career against Sillakh and a KO7 victory over Chakhkiev in a war.

Agree the only loss he has is against Chilemba who's damn hard to look good against we'll see just how real Ramirez is, I wouldn't write off a Vlasov UD.

 

I agree it was very close it should have at least been a draw. Vlasov shouldn't have outright lost, as far as Chilemba goes they're negotiating a fight between him and Beterbiev at the moment.
