I was just informed that Flash Gordon who published the greatest boxing newsletter of all time back in the 1980's passes away last November. Flash lived in Sunnyside, Queens and was a true boxing original. RIP Flash.

Don Majeski wrote an obituary of Malcolm "Flash" Gordon that appeared in the December 2016 edition of the International Boxing Research Organization Journal. According to the obituary, Flash was found dead in his Sunnyside Gardens apartment on or about October 25, 2015 after people noticed a strong odor while standing outside the apartment. Flash didn't have any known relatives and was buried in an unmarked grave at Mount Richmond Cemetery on Staten Island, New York. It took about a month to remove a huge amount of items from his apartment.

It appears it was quite awhile before Majeski found out that Flash had passed away. Maybe about a year afterwards, Majeski tried to visit Flash and found that the door of Flash's apartment was padlocked. Majeski learned that Flash had passed away and about his apartment being cleaned out while talking to people in the apartment building.
