I met Lou Dibella in person and I can testify that he is one of the nicest boxing related people I have ever met.
I quite like what I've seen of DiBella...I remember seeing footage of the Khan/Malignaggi weigh-in, and DiBella was literally roaring at people, utterly furious at how Golden Boy had apparently allowed Khan's 'army' to get in a closed weigh-in and cause a riot. He seemed to really care about Malignaggi, and I was struck by that, because it's quite rare to see that in a promoter. I just checked Wiki, and DiBella apparently even organised a documentary called Magic Man for Malignaggi...
Malignaggi really is a dick. DiBella took a fighter who doesn't exactly have a crowd-pleasing style and got him several big fights, made him money and guided him to a world title. Does Paulie think that if he was with Arum or GBP he'd be another Oscar, shattering ppv records with $100 million in the bank? DiBella didn't make a profit from him for the first seven years of their relationship and he's still the bad guy? I bet that after his contract with GBP is up, he'll look back on his time with Lou differently.
