Malignaggi calling out Zaveck again

"I definitely would like to fight him," Malignaggi told me the other day. "I've read where Zaveck says he wants to come to the United States after beating Delgado. I beat Paul Delgado when I was a prospect. I fought him twice. The first time I hurt my hand and it was a close. I rematched with him with two hands and I whitewashed him. So when I saw Delgado got a world title fight I was like, 'What?' He wasn't ready for a world title fight. A lot of guys don't deserve world title fights and he was one of them."

"Maybe some people believe that in Slovenia, but he's not coming here to get them. He's not going to get them," Malignaggi said. "If you're going to come here and step up, I'm a former world champion and I moved up to welterweight. I'm a quote, unquote, big name. He has faced nothing compared to the level of fighter I am. So it's a big step up for him. Fighting Paul Delgado isn't. The sanctioning bodies aren't to be given a lot of credit, but he made a mockery of it. He defended against Delgado, who's crafty, but not ready for a world title.

I'm not surprised Paulie is interested in this fight. Zaveck would give him a realistic chance of winning a title and, if he does that, he could talk his way into another big fight.

He might consider it if he could KO him but that's not gonna happen

Actually, he is on somewhat of a run of stoppages lately so who knows? :hey

American TV money might make it just as lucrative tbh, Would be a decent B.A.D card

So true. Been to Croatia and nearly broke my neck walking around and catching glimpses of their women.

How good does Paulie usually do in MSG? I know he sold well against Cotto(I believe that was there) and I believe the Khan fight was fairly full as well.

    :good
Is there a problem with that?

Without Paulie's mouth he wouldn't even be famous. I love this guy and his hair lol. I hope he gets it, wins and then talks his way into another big fight that he'll most likely lose, but still.....

If Paulie gets this fight and actually wins, it would mean he has held belts in 2 different divisions. i personally think that that would be a really remarkable achievement considering that he has absolutely no power. It would all be down to hard work (and a bit of luck...)

he might of been on the losing side a few times but paulie has been in with some good fighters and always gives it his all.

Nope, no problem - that's his thing. A fighter with his style who can't crack an egg usually wouldn't make the money he has, so good luck to him.

I can't see him actually winning a big fight at 147 but the division isn't especially deep and, if he wins a title, I won't grudge him another pay-day.

Hopefully Paulie can get this fight. I wouldn't mind seeing Paulie land a fight with some of the bigger names at 147.

I know u just mistyped this but anyway it's Slovenia :hey

lol at Malignaggi saying that Delgado was not ready for a world title fight. Delgado will never be ready for Zaveck.

Paulie has a chance if he puls a Jackiewicz (and i think he will after he tastes his power) on Zaveck but the moment he will try to mix it up with him it will be over.

I hope it happens in Stožice.

So true, if he wouldn't be a boxer he would be one of those guys who crash their cars and injure themselves for insurance money...

I'd be over the ****ing moon for him if he got this shot, but I think Paulie's best days are over. He's took a few punches and overall, he's not as his best stylistically and it's only going to show further at Welterweight when it's even less effective.

Paulie's best days were the fights with Cotto and N'Dou. He's put on some pretty disappointing displays of late. Infact, both Diaz fights were closer than they should've been. Paulie should've took him to school. I agree with what Buddy McGirt said in the N'Dou fight, he does showboat too much and he does tend to switch off.

I agree with you my man.
Hey but I still have hopes for the guy.

His fight with Khan was the beginning of the end. That fight made me sad. First time Paulie has been beaten at his own game.
