I noticed this "Jessica" chick has took paulie out his gameplan and basically it's all he talks about, which is a very bad sign.I think the first 2 rounds will be competitive, but then i see broner stepping up the tempo and malignaggi will stand his ground, but get dropped in the process and go into survival mode. I got Broner by 8th round tko and i see malignaggi taking alot of punishment trying to be brave.
That's going to be the issue for Paulie. Broner isn't going to respect Paulie what so ever and just march forward, unloading shots. Paulie will need to be moving an awful a lot to avoid punishment.
there is something to be said of paulie saying he would have a bunch of knockouts to if he faught a bunch of bums.after about 6 fights he wasn't matched real soft.hes no big puncher but theres some truth to what hes saying.when guys step it up there ko ratio goes down. look at pulev for example.hes been fighting quality fighters from almost the get go and look at his ko percentage.on paper it looks like he cant punch but knocked out his last two guys with jabs. :good paulie might put it on him :bbb
Regardless of Paulie's lack of "pop", he has the RING SMARTS to make a fight out of this. He's savvy as hell, and about as game as they come. I can see time catching up with Paulie, but I can also imagine a situation where Paulie just puts on a performance of a lifetime, finds his wind, regains his ability to control space and angles, and outboxes the hell out of this kid, and loses in a controversial decision. The worst part about this is that Paulie is NOT ALLOWED TO WIN THIS FIGHT. He is in the twilight of his career, with almost nowhere to go and a bunch of other opportunities available to him. He's ripe for the picking. I hope he turns this over on its ass though, and delivers a boxing clinic ala Juan Diaz. If he can maintain the distance, and stay busy, he can make a hell of a scrap out it and "win" while still losing in the process.
Exactly my point "Flexe" broner will be ripping shots using less energy while paulie will be flicking his weak a** jab and running like he was against cano, but this time he wont make it to the final bell.
I also noticed the 'Jessica' stuff getting under his skin. I don't know why it has bothered him so much but he seems to really want to hurt Broner; not smart. I have been watching a lot of both fighters recently, trying to find a way that Paulie can win. The only thing i can find is if Paulie doesn't let Broner get set to throw his power punches. If he jabs and moves all night without engaging much then he might have a shot.
That's the thing, this isn't malignaggi of the past and the only clinic that should be on paulies mind is going to the doc to see if he has a std.
I wonder if Malinaggi can hurt Broner I mean Adrien is moving up 2 weights after a short stay at 135 may be him coming up in weight he wont be used to the power of a guy always 140 to 147 though he doesnt hit hard for his own weightclass dont forget Malinaggi stopped Senchenko for his title at 147 only 2 fights ago and maybe he is starting to think about sitting on shots This is probably a big stretch, but also Broner can have a wide stance and be stationary, Malinaggi has the movement and experience to maybe out maneuver Broner also Broner has hardly been tested into the deep waters in a difficult fight and now he will be carrying more weight than ever just some things to think about not really my prediction just a few discussion points
You talk as if Malignaggi knocked out Senchenko cold. What really happened is that Senchenko retired due to cuts and the fight was ruled a TKO. If you watched the fight you will know that Senchenko was never staggered and was hurt only once to the body. It wasn't Paulie's power that got him that stoppage it was the speed and accuracy of his punches causing the cut.
if i go with instinct i always seem to get my pick right.thats why i try not to have favorites...then your making your pick on emotion. your looking and hoping for ways for your guy to win.if you go with what your first instinct is when you hear about a fight getting made and you know your boxing you will call it right. im hope im wrong and paulie pulls it off but but broner should win this somewhat easy.
Paulie has no pop but hopefully he has the technical ability to show everyone atleast for the first couple of rounds Broner's weak defence and hyped ability.
