Rubbish. Why do people all of a sudden forget just how competitive the fight was. Diaz had Marquez doing a dance in teh second round, and although Marquez was clearing taking over, Marquez was in trouble early..and he was getting hits with shots in almost every round. Juan Diaz will destroy Paulie.
just like how cotto broke paulie's jaw and it went the distance or how hatton threw everything in his arsenal and paulie didnt get kd....i can't see a known feather-fisted diaz doing much damage to paulie...... and marquez took that fight over from round 7 on....the only time marquez was in trouble was round 2.
Anyone who says Paulie wins this fight doesnt know **** about boxing, this is a mismatch Paulie doesnt have anything to keep Diaz of him .
Juan Diaz was competitive and hurt the second best fighter in the world at a weight he has proved to be effective in. Bottom line. People can say Juan doesn't hit hard, but the fact is he hurt a world calibre fighter with a single hook in that fight, and Paulie has never done such a thing. I'm not a huge fan of either fighter, but the workrate, aggressiveness, and combination punching of Diaz is going to do a really really bad number on Paulie, who will probably be pulled out at some point, if he isn't knocked out. Goodluck to him.
first of all it was Paulie's orbital bone in his face .. not his jaw that was broken. not a biggie, but for someone who goes on so in depth about Paulie im a bit suprized your saying Paul got his jaw broken. and as for the other bold, big deal .... who cares if Hatton didn't technically stop Paulie ... he still wore him down, dominated him and most importantly WON the fight. regarding Diaz vs Paulie, Juan doesn't have to hurt him or stop him, just slow him down and win enough rounds to win the fight. ***A lot of the times, and not just here, I've seen the "Cotto didn't stop Paulie" argument used a lot, but besides Cotto not beating him by kayo, I don't think it's good logic to use, cuz while not being stopped shows durability+heart I thought winning was more important and you can argue till the grave how Cotto or Hatton didn't stop Malignaggi and be 100% correct but they still (Cotto&Hatton) both own decisive victories over Malignaggi
Malignaggi just can't stop talking ****, you whop the guy's ass so hard you would assume he'll tone it down. Still much respect for that, the guy always keeps his head high.
Paulie is almost like a comedy figure. Like when he was on the Hatton undercard and he came into the fight with hair extensions. Then half way into the fight they start blocking his eye sight ,so he gets a haircut in the ring.
I agree. Paulie may take the worst beating of his career. There is no way his pillow fist is going to keep Diaz off him.
