he has done pretty good in his career vs. decent opposition, but always failed on the big stage. no shame there, but his big mouth might make people think twice where to rate him and his abilities in the ring, where it really counts. reminds me abit of a camacho

I like him because he isn't afraid to fight top fighters who can potentially knock him out real bad, he also has good skill just no power.

ive been a huge fan of magic man since the cotto fight, he deserves respect for getting as far as he has with little or no power in his fists

He has achieved quite a lot for a man with the hand problems he has had. The right one is particularly bad which has him fighting with one hand on many occasions. And I give him a lot of credit for the Cotto fight too. He is a really tough gutsy fighter, just lacks power and strength.

Paulie Mallinagi v Paulie Mccloskey for future fight

I don't give him credit when he's lost his two biggest fights badly, only showing a willingness to take punishment rather than quit.

    Decent skills, unimpressive overall.

taking nothing away from hatton, magic man didnt show up mentally on the night, against cotto he deserves credit for fighting back like he did, i would say cotto won, but malignaggi made it close

Paulie doesnt get enough credit from the pretty boy rep he has... he took a beating in the Cotto and Hatton fights and kept comming, the Cotto fight was faily competitive ... interesting fighter to say the least... too bad he hs bad hands and lacks power

he's finished, 140 is overflowing with young contenders and prospects right now....

but i will say this b4 his hand injuries when he could actually punch with both hands i'd favor him over most 140lb'ers

but right now, he's just a featherfisted, 1 armed fighter...can't see him beating any top guys

The fight could have gone either way so I don't know what you are talking about. You watch the fight again, the Cotto fight was competitive and he had to deal with a cut over his eye.

Probably won't be any better threads for me to make my first post in so here it goes!

I think with Paulie switching trainers after the Hatton fight, he has a real good chance to get back into the upper levels of the 140lbs division. McGirt made him fight a style which was never going to work for him because he doesn't have the power to pull it off. I think he'll win quite a wide UD over Alvarado and then it'll be onward and upwards, hopefully back in title contention soon. I think he has enough skill to get back there, even with his hand problems as long as he keeps moving & working the jab he can take a decision over a lot of guys at 140lbs.

NO NO NO, he had a huge gift against Ngoudjo and another gift in the Ndou rematch. His only decent win is Ndou 1, hes a gatekeeper level at best

Expect Khan to face Mallignaggi if he gets by Kotelnik

His boxing ability is overrated IMO,his defense is leaky,he is very hittable.
And his wins over Ngoudjo and N'dou II are questionable altough me myself I thought he won both but there are plenty who say he lost.Cherry fight was at 140 where Cherry ain't as good.
All in all he is good but the problem is he won't be very good and people have no respect for him.
Alvarado will bullrsuh him like Hatton.
He said he doesn't have his heart in it anymore. His right hand is destroyed and unlike Arturo Gatti he didn't have any power in it even before the first oeration.
