Tackie was a real contender at the time, 24-4 I seem to remember, having recently given Tszyu a decent fight.

Vince Phillips was a former IBF champion.

Jon Thaxton is the guy that Amir Khan has been shamelessly ducking for the past 2 years

Eamon Magee is a former JWW/WW gatekeeper at Euro/WBU level with a Margarito esque chin

Hatton can box to an extent and I feel if he threw a jab to set up his work he would be much more sucessful or at least look a but better.

    Regardless, Hatton will beat Zoolander.

Johnny Ruiz is positively thrill a minute next to Ricky Hatton. And Hatton is always comparing himelf to Gatti, Duran, Chavez for excitement and says how the Mexicans revere him for his style   , how embarrasing and deluded can you get?

    Paulie is spot-on here

He said he can box, not that he was a ****ing good boxer.. just he can box. even if that is level C skills, its still boxing so I fail to see why you get wound up so much. of course he's not not going to try and outbox maywhether you egit.

strange, i actually like watching hatton fight. don't find him ruiz like in the least. moves forward all the time, always hitting, moving. not the most fun to watch for sure, but compared to sleepy man? nah.

but have you watched him fight other than his last 2, when even his own peeps are saying that he's losing it? anyway.

You missed the point - It's not that Hatton 'does not box' its that his style nullifies the practice of boxing to the point where it becomes another sport.

Tszyu did put on a clinic against Tackie, but the African was still game and never gave up.

Yes and if you go into his early career, when he was still a prospect, you can add Freddy Pendleton to that list. Then of course there were the fights with Joe Hutchinson and Aldo Rios, where due to the poor opposition he looked like Sugar Ray Robinson at times.

Yup. Paulie's gonna look awful foolish when he gets KO'd by someone who cant box...

Oh yes he is. Dont let Paulie's bravery against Cotto fool you, Malinaggi was ready for the KO but Cotto was a bit too green and experienced to take it. Make that fight today at 145lbs and Cotto ices him in under 6.

Look how badly Paulie coped with Lovermore N'Dou put him under a bit of pressure! Hatton will hurt him much more than that, and totally flatten his smooth boxing skills. The body attack alone may cause a stoppage. You have to remember that Hatton is dangerous to the body, this guy stopped Castillo, ****ing CASTILLO who swallowed litres of his own blood rather than hit the canvas, with a single bodyshot. If he can KO Castillo he can KO anyone, especially paulie.

Its not entertaining in the least though. Grab and pound with one free hand until the ref breaks it and run in and do it again repeat repeat repeat. Thats boring as ****.

If you want an example of a guy who can box and chosed not too, look at Morales or someone else who brawls. Hatton just holds on.
