So you guys think "Paulie the *****" won't speak the truth against his BFF? Think again.... :nut http://www.boxinginsider.com/headlines/why-malignaggi-sees-pacquiao-as-a-major-threat-to-mayweather/
I actually agree with Paulie that that is how Pac would beat Floyd. I dont think Pac would win should the ****in thing ever happen though.
10 pages.... But I will agree that Pac's volume of punches, south paw stance, and angles, will get around that shoulder roll. And the elbow that Floyd loves to put out there so you run your face into it.
paulie talked about why he thinks both guys may be challenging for one another terrible job at trying to twist the storyatsch
Ever since I watch Floyd Mayweather, he gives you a defense where he locks up. And a lot of that time obviously it works for Floyd Floyd is very hard to hit regardless of the fact. But I always felt that somebody with fast hands, that throws punches in bunches and throws them in flurries, might not land on Floyd because he locks up so well he has the ability to leave Floyd there. And what I mean by that is, move your hands, step out, you leave him there. Throw punches, step out, before you know it, Floyd, if hes giving you all this (Paulie motions Floyds defensive moves), he never gets the chance to get back off. Because youre in and out. And that costs you rounds. Through the course of Mayweathers career, hes always been faster than most of his opponents. But the fast guys that he did fight did show glimpses of it. Oscar showed glimpses of that. Zab Judah showed glimpses of that. You can do that to Floyd. The problem is, you will very rarely hit him clean. So I think these guys get frustrated and get away from that. But in the meantime what they dont realize is that theyre probably winning rounds because Floyd is not getting off. Manny Pacquiao doesnt have to change anything about himself. He fights that way naturally. So I can see that being a problem for Floyd, especially as he gets older. So how will Floyd counteract that? Floyd is always so good at pulling the trigger on time. When you want to get off, he pot-shots you. Before you know it, Pacquiao cant get off any more. Hes gunshy because hes running into shots. Floyd has the ability to pull the trigger on time. The reason I see Pacquiao as a threat is because being able to pull the trigger in that split-second time is the first thing you lose as you get older.
good anaylsis. He's just saying what I and some other people around here have said for a while. Floyd's defensive habits will give him problems against Pacquiao. As Paulie said Floyd locks up when he's in a defensive mode and becomes a stationary target. Pacquiao will just tee off and swarm him , and whether or not he lands everything he'll pile up points. You have to be constantly moving against pacquiao and giving lateral movement as Marquez did. Floyd can look very robotic against left-handers. He fights in straight lines and only throws one punch at time. It not a whole lot different then what Clottey does. People laugh at me when I say this will look similar to the Pac - Clottey fight, but it wouldn't be all that different. It's a more competitive version of that fight.
I personally don't think PED's can really improve one's ability to take a punch. It didn't keep Vargas from getting KTFO by DLH who had recently moved up from 147 to 154.
