I wouldn't call it fishy as that implies something criminal. I'd lean towards questionable. I haven't seen the rest of the fight therefore I can't say the ref made the wrong decision at this point. I've seen fighters in worse condition and were given the chance to continue. By the 9th rd Cotto (vs. Pac) had worse facial injuries, was in against a better puncher than Paulie. Sen was actually throwing back before the stoppage occurred and Paulie's last flurry yielded just one landed punch that didn't quite land flush.

But hey, Sen isn't protesting or at least I haven't heard any. Paulie wins by TKO. So be it. Not a terrible decision. But as of now not the most clear and inarguable one either.

 

he looked good. obviously not as fast as old paulie but fast enough for Senchenko. Probably the best shape he's been in as a welter.

I have always been a big Malignaggi fan. I have NEVER understood why he gets so much hate. The guy can't bust open a grape but he is one of the toughest fighters I have ever had the pleasure of seeing, he doesn't back down. Big win for him, and while I feel he won't be a title holder for too long, he will not go out without a fight.
