Completely agree. Diaz can fill up an arena regardless of who his opponent is because of 2 things: he has an entertaining fight style and has a huge mexican fan base in Texas. Why do you think Paulie had to concede so much in making the fight and fighting Diaz in his own backyard? Its cause Paulie doesnt have that drawing power in his own home town because he has zero power, a boring fight style, has lost both his big fights against Hatton and Cotto very one-sidedly, and does not have the fan following-most likely due to these reasons. Paulie is now an undercard or ESPN fighter, plain and simple. Diaz probably should be too, but he can draw a crowd and he can make a fight entertaining which = $$$.

 

That shows that even Diaz knows he got a hometown dec.

 

I thought the Malinaggi-Diaz fight was decently entertaining. Both fighters were cut up, and I thought Malinaggi outboxed Diaz and deserved the decision, which is the unanimous sentiment among most boxing fans.

By pulling out of the fight that his promoters already signed onto, Jaun looks like he's ducking Malinaggi. He supposedly wants to make a rematch work with JMM, but I think JMM has moved onto bigger and better things, despite the loss to Mayweather.

Maybe if Diaz could get a credible win over Malinaggi, he would earn himself a rematch with Marquez. IMO, Diaz-Malinaggi 2 had the makings of another good fight.

 

I used to be a Diaz dan but his post fight interview following the paulie match made me start to kind of hate the guy. Now reading this news on the front page and seeing his ******ed smiling ass picture I really hate him now.

 

Don't give a **** at all, who the **** wants to see a re-match.. honestly? The first fight was alright.. but I don't want to watch it again.

Diaz is still exciting, and it was Paulie who made it a **** fight with his constant no power jab and running. Who wants 12 more rounds of that crap.

I also had Diaz winning the fight, and he's better off fighting someone else at this point, in a fight where his style will make a better exciting fight.

 

Diaz has no biz fighting out of 135, that's where he needs to keep his ass.

 

HBO wants to see it and they have the big bucks to make it happen. Diaz doesn't want to.

 

He hasn't said much about the money. He says he'd rather have a rematch with Marquez first.

QFT, but I believe Diaz is a Genuinely nice fellow. Sure he got a decision to go his way that can arguably be for Paulie, but it doesn't MAKE HIM a *****.

No doubt Diaz deserves more money than Paulie. Pro Boxing is a business first.

Also Diaz is a chubby LW, I don't want to see him fight at 140, FOR WHAT???!! He will be way too small, hell, I think he'd be able to make 130 easy if he cut that baby fat.

So asking Diaz to fight at 140 is like asking Humberto Soto to fight Tim Bradley, or Cotto to fight Pavlik at 160.

 

For what??? Being a business man, Demanding what is his. And getting a contreversial win???

Mayweather, Pacquiao TWICE, ODLH, Taylor, Hopkins, RJJ, Mosley, Cotto, and many more have gotten contreversial wins.

I actually would rather have Diaz fight a LW than Paulie at any weight, epecially 140.

 

If Diaz doesn't take this fight, I'd be disappointed for Paulie. But, there are some other fights I'd like to see him in- maybe Diaz-Ortiz or Diaz-Holt, for starters.
