This is very close to how I scored the fight myself. I could tell that the commentators (especially Kellerman) were going to effect how some people viewed this fight. Bob Papa would be calling the action and would say that Diaz had landed a nice left hook, and Kellerman would jump in and say that Paulie had landed five great shots right before that!! Kellerman did this multiple times during the fight. He OBVIOUSLY was rooting for Paulie.

If you look at the punches landed by the end of the fight, Diaz only landed something like 12 less punches, but he had outlanded powderpuff Paulie in the powerpunch department by 30 or 40 punches. This is HUGE when scoring a fight. Jabs only count for so much compared to the hooks that Diaz was landing.

Also, this fight card showed boxing fans the perfect example of being on your toes and dancing effectively or just flat out running and jabbing. Robert Guerrero showed how to stay on your toes, slip to the side and engage your opponent then slide away. He also would come forward and press the action a little bit every round, even getting Klassen on the ropes occasionally. Paulie did none of this.

Paulie on the other hand just flat out ran all night long. Judges are going to have a hard time scoring a fight for a guy that just refuses to stay in the pocket and trade. On the rare occasion that he did (because Diaz cut off the ring) Paulie would get blasted with power shots. Paulie didn't trade and then slide and then re-engage like Guerrero.

You hear people talk about effective aggression, but they should also mention effective ring generalship. It isn't effective ring generalship if you are running, only jabbing and not making a fight of it at any point.

This fight was close and I dont have a problem giving the fight to any of these fighters what I do have a problem with is the scores. Its ironic that Pauli knew this was gonna happen, he showed up and he got jobbed. He didnt get robbed he got jobbed basically the judges gave him no chance to win in Texas.

i find it more sad than anything else that paulie knew going into the ring that the judges were going to **** him over

Irony is was Kellerman at the end of this trying to justify it as the "marketplace decision," as if that is somehow right and Papa feeling the scorecards were out of whack.

I had it 115-113 for Paulie, and I am a much bigger fan of The Baby Bull than The Magic Man.

That was pretty much how it is. I was dumbfounded to hear some of the rounds that ledoman gave paulie.

I never score a fight while i'm watching it live. But your scorecard is certainly not bad.

I had it 116-112 Paulie, Diaz was throwing wild left hooks at a blocked right side of paulie 3 or 4 at a time and everyone seemed to be pretending that they were landing. Paulie was coming back with sharp punches up the middle jolting Juans head back, also alot of the times Paulie was moving with the punches and they would just graze him.

I had Paulie 7-5 and I was rooting for the Babybull. Bottom line: Juan Diaz could easily fight at 130lbs. Malignaggi is a nice size 140lbs. He sould have dominated more convincingly if he wanted to get some money @ 140lbs

I agree, and I think Kellerman and Lennox are likely to favor the one who is considered the "Boxer"
