Thank you, people like to play stupid here for whatever reason Is people really trying to defend this duck
Paulie is living on borrowed time. He should not be champ after the beating Cano ave him. I would rather see Cano take on Maidana. That has FOTY written all over it.
 Shut up. I didn't say anything about Martinez being anything more than he is, which is a Mexi-can. (of the tomate variety) Of course it was a shitty opponent. That's why I emphasized how Maidana "dominated every second and got his man out of there" as he is supposed to do. It was a multipurpose gig: stay-busy tune-up, WBA trinket defense to maintain rank, an opportunity to fight at home, and - most importantly - a sort of practice run to work on applying some of what he's been fine-tuning. You can't tell how well someone can do against the elite by watching them against a bum, no. You can, however, gauge their own personal progress in certain areas by contrasting against previous efforts. How fast and sharp someone is throwing their punches has nothing to do with who is standing in front of them. That's something you can isolate and look at relative to how fast and sharp someone threw punches in the past (against anyone, from champions to chumps, or even a heavy bag - it doesn't matter).
So who is more shot Mosley or Morales answer that question Is people gonna act like Sugar Shot Mosley wasn't laying hands on Canelo and survived to tell people Canelo power aint all of that
Mosley, easily. So? Canelo has never exactly been untouchable. Mosley got humiliated that night. I don't know if he truly earned a single round. (I recall ceding him the 12th, out of pity, because he emptied the chambers)
well i suggest you go to a gym and hit the heavy bag. trust me, youll look real "fast and sharp" when you dont have to worry about somebody hitting you back in the face...HARD. your opponent has everything to do whether you look "fast and sharp," especially when the someone that is standing in front of you is coming off two consecutive ko losses, one just four months prior. fwiw, there probably wasnt even a line offered on this fight and if there was angel was probably a 30-1 dog. he probably wasnt even paid, just his expenses for him and his novia picked up in a free "vacation" to buenos aires. seriously.
No, dummy, there are things you can extract from any performance against anyone. You are completely missing the point, and seem hung up on the fact that I consider Martinez to have been a live body or a good win. He wasn't & it isn't. Even so, you can still monitor the actions of Maidana himself and compare specific qualities to recent past versions of him, and ergo say "there's some progress". If you honestly can't see how...
you may have less than a handfull of people here that will agree with you on this absurd statement. any handicapper, people that speak with their money and not their mouths, will tell you the same.
atsch Seriously, are you ****ing ******ed? If you throw a straight punch at Muhammad Ali, you've thrown a straight punch at Muhammad Ali. Reason? (hint: not because it's Muhammad Ali). Because you threw a straight ****ing punch. If you throw a sloppy looping punch at Muhammad Ali, you've thrown a straight punch at Muhammad Ali. Reason? (hint: not because it's Muhammad Ali). Because you threw a sloppy looping ****ing punch. If you throw a straight punch at Reggie Strickland, you've thrown a sloppy looping punch at Reggie Strickland. Reason? (hint: not because it's Reggie Strickland). Because you threw a sloppy looping ****ing punch. If you throw a straight punch at Reggie Strickland, you've thrown a sloppy looping punch at Reggie Strickland. Reason? (hint: not because it's Reggie Strickland). Because you threw a straight ****ing punch. Straight is straight. Looped is looped. It has **** all to do with who or what the target is. Analyzing specific mechanical things a boxer is doing can be done any time you're watching them, because they have 100% to do with the boxer himself and nothing to do with external factors. Your silly little brain seems unable to separate the two things. No, I'm not saying "obliterating Martinez proves Maidana's worth at welterweight" - never claimed any such thing, because you do need to prove such things against quality opposition. Overall effectiveness includes many facets, and does require a live body to be demonstrated. You do not have to prove individual elements such as the speed, straightness, or sharpness of your punches against quality opposition because they are going to be empirically visible on any given night. You can ABSOLUTELY look at certain elements Maidana didn't quite have ironed out against Soto Karass and say they were smoother against Martinez - even though Martinez is nowhere close to Soto Karass' level. It doesn't matter. Seriously, are you trolling or actually this dense?
I liked the Mosley fight better for Malignaggi. I like the Maidana fight more for Maidana Maidana is gonna stop Paulie :deal
Seriously, ever since the Ortiz fight, has Maidana stopped anyone worth mentioning? He couldn't stop Amir Khanlol and got his ass handed to him by an ancient Morales. He's not stopping anyone in this fight.
for some reason, i dont think morales would be throwing 201 punches in rounds 10-12 against any the 140-pound wbc champion like shane was against canelo, who managed to only throw 16 total punches more than mosely. http://compuboxonline.com/compubox-stats-alvarez-w-12-mosley/ in fact morales didnt. he threw a total of 108 in his second to last fight in which garcia outpunched him by 113 in rounds 10-12 and was ko'd in his last fight. http://compuboxonline.com/compubox-stats-garcia-w-12-morales/ so i would say that morales is more shot, you know, if you like to base your opinions on empirical evidence.
