According to boxrec, IBF Light welterweight champion Paulie "Magic Man" Malignaggi, from New York, NY will fight mandatory challenger Herman "The black panther" Ngoudjo, from Montreal, QC by the way of cameroon on January 5 in New York for the IBF title.

Malignaggi (23-1-0 5KOs) won his title by beating Lovermore N'Dou in June. His only defeat is a UD againts Miguel Cotto.

Ngoudjo won a close SD againts Randall Bailey last June to have the right to fight the champion. His only loss is a close controversial split decision againts the great Jose Luis Castillo.

But boxrec always changes so it may not be accurate.

I thought Malignaggi was rematching N'dou on the undercard of Ricky-Floyd?

Maybe. I hope its Ngoudjo but it might be N'Dou. As long as the ref is not Eddie Cotton it should be a good fight in both case. Ngoudjo and N'Dou have similar styles.

I thought so too, but it doesn't really make any sense, N'dou needs to get a win under him first.

Paulie is fighting on showtime against Ngoudjo on Jan. 5th. They were going to fight Lovemore Ndou but HBO decided to go with Jeff Lacy against some1 but it's more likely going to be Peter Manferdo. Showtime bought the fight Paulie vs Ngoudjo hoping the winner would unify the title.

I really dont even care for another n'dou fight. Ndou got soooo punked last time out it wouldn't even be worth watching. If I were PM, I'd drop the title sooner than honor that rematch. No one would want to see that fight - and as a result no one would pay them to make it happen. PM loses lots of money if he takes n;dou again instead of Ngoudjo

According to his promoter here in Montreal, it seems to be a done deal
for Jan. 5th. For sure, N'Goudjo is already in training camp for that fight.

    PM by UD!

for sure. I'll be cheering for Herman and hope he proves me wrong, but I really dont see how he can beat Paulie. Stylewise I dont think its a good match for Ngoudjo. I'm glad its not a rematch with Ndou though. Ndou showed absolutely nothing in the first one that would make me go 'Man I would love to see a rematch between these 2.'
