He's even giving a bit of lip too. Hope this fight gets hyped. My sense is that Hatton is going to want a gimme confidence booster In Manchester after getting knocked out. But I hope not. He's had 44 fights now and is nearing the end of his career. there is no need for more meaningless fights. Fight the magic man Ricky. Prove youre the best again.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paulie Malignaggi is willing to fight Ricky Hatton next - because he is "not that good a fighter".The IBF light-welterweight king has offered the Hitman an instant return to the world title scene following his KO at the hands of Floyd Mayweather.
Oscar de la Hoya and Junior Witter have already thrown their hats into the ring, but Malignaggi says his belt, his New York base and the fact that he is also coming off a loss make him the best option open to the pride of Manchester.
And he did his best to lure Hatton by laughing off his performance against Mayweather and his boxing ability and even labelling him a coward.

"The more I see of Ricky, the more I think he's scared to get hit and that's why he fights the way he does," he told boxingtalk.com.
"There were opportunities for him to throw punches and he chose to hold. It seems that the guy holds first and hits second. It gets ridiculous to watch."
"I'm sure Ricky's a nice guy and a nice person, but as a fighter I can't respect him.
"I would love to fight Ricky Hatton. I'm definitely ready for it whenever he wants to step up to the plate.

    Perfect sense
"Ricky keeps saying he wants to fight at the Garden and if he's going to fight at junior-welterweight, I'm the guy you have to fight at the Garden.
"I have the belt which he used to hold. He came back for it before and I'm ready to give him another chance to take back what he never lost but will never hold again. We both have one loss now and we've both lost to great fighters.
"I didn't get stopped and he's coming off a knockout loss so I'd love to see how he comes back from that. Madison Square Garden makes perfect sense, he can get his second loss and everybody would be happy."
Malignaggi, who has lost only to Miguel Cotto in 24 fights, is pencilled in to defend his title in January against Herman Ngoudjo, the man who pushed Jose Luis Castillo all the way in his tune-up for Hatton earlier this year.

Paulie should focus on N'Goudjo first. Herman will give him a hell of ride.

Malignaggi is all wrong for Hatton. Malignaggi would make Hatton look stupid just like Mayweather did. Hatton doesnt have the skill set or speed to match Malignaggi.

Unless Hatton wants to embarass himself again like he did against Mayweather he should avoid the Magic man.

You forget he was embaressed by the best fighter in the world.

Who is: Faster; hits harder, has better footwork; better defensivly and is better in every respect than Malignaggi.

Hatton would walk Malignaggi down and beat him up. Paulie has no power at all. 5 KO's.

Hatton UD or stoppage via bodyshot.

Seriously man didnt many of the posters think Hatton would beat Mathwearer. Now after the fact everyones forgotten about it. Same way, Malignaggi is too good and too fast for Hatton.

Hatton applies pressure but its not intelligent pressure and smart fighters will easliy exploit that.

I think Paulie would beat Hatton!

I dont see Hatton ever being the same again, despite what he says. It takes huge mental strenght and will be get into the shape Hatton was for the PBF fight. Paulie is hungry and remember he took what Cotto could give him and stayed upright

Paulie is fast, good jab and his foot movement could give Hatton problems. Obviously i give Hatton a great chance, its not like the PBF fight, Hatton would win some rounds on pressure while Paulie would outbox Hatton in some

Go out on a limb and say that Paulie wont stop Hatton unless on cuts, that Hatton hurts Paulie at some point and Paulie comes on strong late on to win 7-5 on rounds...

My opinion could change though if the fight were made official

If Ricky is not mentally shot after the Floyd fight then he will beat Paulie imo. His glaring lack of power would be shown up. But if Hatton is indeed never the same he could be in foe a long night.

Ricky needs to be a bit more careful and to follow a plan and stop letting himself so emotional.

Malignaggi is underrated. He was a in competititve fight with one of the top p4p in Cotto. His speed and boxing gave Cotto problems and Cotto's pressure is I'm sure is better than Hatton, Cotto pressure is real pressure. Dont forget too Cotto was much bigger than the Magic man and Hatton doesnt have that advantage.

Besides Hattons pressure is standing square holding and hitting. Magic man will have an easy night. As for Malignaggis comparison to Mayweather, Magic man has faster feet and hands.
