Ya, but does Hatton really understand the term 'meaningful pressure' and how it differs to just plain pressure?

He is his own downfall because going headfirst into things leaves him very open to counters and straight rights.. Remember, punchs hurt more when you meet them halfway!

Malignaggi has movement, D, and a sweet left jab, and hook on occasion. But thats not enough to stop the top guy's. Now if Cotto didnt KO him? I dont expect Ricky too either. This will be an entertaining fight which likely ends in Hatton's favor. I see Malignaggi eating a LIVER SHOT the way Ward vs Gatti, Gatti vs Ward did. He's tough, but Hatton slipped PBF's left, and forced floyd to counter with the straight right, there's a big difference in how that scenario plays here.

 

The magic man had his chance to perform magic against Cotto but didn't deliver. Hatton may not hit as hard as Cotto, but the pressure he applies can be equally effective. It all depends on whether Malignaggi can focus.

Malinaggi would be a nightmare for Hatton. He would have Ricky timed from the ring walk for christsakes. Sure he might not hurt Ricky but count on Ricky being cut. And even though Malinaggi is another easy to hate fighter he certainly shouldnt be underestimated. If I were Ricky I would try to shut the Hitter up in Manchester..Key word TRY...Malinaggi is just as slick and quick as Mayweather just not as powerful...still trouble
