Malignaggi Warns De La Hoya: "Fight Me & You Won't Be Fighting Floyd In September!"

    unior Welterweight Champ Paulie Malignaggi issued a warning to the Golden Boy in connection with his name being mentioned in a list of candidates for a proposed "tune-up" for Oscar De La Hoya on May 3:
    I'll pull out your spark plugs and shut your engine down.

    "Of the three opponents I have heard mentioned, I am the only one who can beat De La Hoya," Malignaggi told Pound4Pound. "If he is just looking at me as a tune-up for his fight with Mayweather he had better think again. If Oscar fights me in May he won't be fighting Floyd in September."

    Paulie desperately trying to bait Oscar into a fight. I guess he liked a nurse in the hospital Cotto put him in, because Oscar would send him right back there for a much longer stay.

    Someone with no power is not going to beat De La Hoya. Sturm does not have a huge punch but he was a true MW. He probably beat De La Hoya. Fighting ODH is a huge payday and instant recognition for anyone. PM is a colorful character and they would be able to sell out something in atlantic city or new york. Gatti always was big in the northeast due to his style and italian heritage. But PM is kind of boring so he'll never equal Gatti in box office appeal. That said, it still might be a good business move. Oscar will win and cannot possibly be hurt in this fight if it is made.

    ****ing hell ODLH would absolutely blast out Paulie, he rest assured would give him his first knock out loss. It would be humiliating for the magic man.

    DLH is not in his prime and I don't think he's that big of a puncher anyway but I would pick him over Paulie. To be honest I think Paulie has the best shot out of the three to beat DLH.

    True but look at the facts. DLH is old and hasn't fought in a year. I'm not saying Paulie will win but I don't think DLH is that good anymore to demolish Paulie. I think DLH should fight forbes and get his rematch with PBF and I think Paulie is better than Forbes and Salita.
