Despite hand injury and despite N'dou having moments during the fight ... he never did anything to take the decision away from Malignaggi and I think it was terrible that one judge had the fight for N'dou. He was getting beat to the punch ... he let Paulie back him up ... he let Paulie man handle him ... he let Paulie fight in the inside against him. I think that McGirt shouldve told him to double up and tripple the jab ... especially when he became aware that N'dou was timing the jab and coming over the top with the right hand ... he totally abandon the jab and his productivity fell off considerably -- Paulie did a great job boxing and I think that he's underrated as far as his pop -- I don't think he committs to his punches and doesn't sit on them when he's throwing them ... he uses them more to score than anything. I'm sure if he used more aggression, committed to his punches, and threw some body punches ... jab and right hand to the body ... he was beating N'dou to the punch !!
I respect your posts when you aren't talking about Floyd Mayweather, but you can't have seriously thought he was impressive? I thought the whole thing was a shambles, from his clown hair, to his obvious underestimation and lack of preperation for his opponent (note the hair and showman attitude) He looked like he fought completely the wrong fight to me. It was like he wanted to beat N'dou at his own game, instead of just circling with his jab and using flsahy combinations like he did in the first fight. He tried way too hard to impress the crowd and get a fight with Hatton, and engaged N'dou when it was obvious he was having more success boxing Had him by 2 points in the end Oh, and lose the ****in hair ya clown atsch
What did N'dou - do to make a case for himself ... he was letting Paulie control every aspect of the fight and didn't do anything to bring the fight in his favor. Even when Paulie's workrate decline and it was obvious something was wrong ... he didn't jump on Paulie ... he didn't walk through those punches ... he didn't increase his punch output on the inside and when he had Paulie on shaky legs he didn't do anything to turn the momentum in his favor. I'm not saying that Paulie did that and he did that ... but he sure as hell controled the fight and I had N'dou winning 4 rounds ...
Even if you gave him 4 rounds (which is harsh) its a few too many, when we have seen how much better than N'dou he is in the first fight. N'dou didn't control anything but he didn't need to, he just plodded forward with really slow footwork, and Malignaggi was content to engage him I was disapointed with Malignaggi, he could have done better given the style advantage he has. It wouldn't have even be competetive if Malignaggi was focused and stuck to the gameplan that was obviously working
Malignaggi is always going to have a bad right hand from what I saw in the documentary on him. Perhaps he should invest in the gloves Joe uses to protect his brittle hands :yep
