There progress is not comparable. Floyd burst onto the scene, got 17 fights under his belt quick then fought the linear champ at 130. Two months later he blew out another top 5 130, then hes racking up defence after defence and dominating all in sight. Then he reiterates his greatness by raping Corrales. Malignaggis progress doesn't compare. Malignaggi will be awkward but Floyd will walk him down like he did Zab, Mitchell, Corley etc
The quickest route for Paulie to take the next step in his career is to try and unify 140, then parlay that into a big fight with Hatton/PBF/Cotto. I don't know if the alphabet boys will have any of it, or if Paulie's got that on his agenda or not, though.
Paulie would be the first to admit that he would get beaten by Floyd. He always talks about how great PBF is in interviews and he even said that he thinks Floyd would beat SRR at welter.
There nothing in this sparing that leads me to believe that Paul is on floyd level. he sparing a guys thats standing straight up and not bending at the waist at all .. You saw what floyd did to Zab who's hand speed is faster then paul's .. In short you need more then speed when competing on the upper levels of boxing and Paul is not there yet. If floyd fought Paul right now Floyd would be highly criticized, that how far outta range Paul is right now.
