now that the brits only have one fighter, in fury, carrying the hopes of winning a heavyweight belt, with the shattering of price's mandible. i think that it's only fitting for the US to single out the best fighter in their crop as well... how would a fight between the pure boxer, scott, who was shamelessly robbed, pan out against wilder, who seems to just look for one punch more often than not?:think winner fights jennings...
too soon for wilder i think. It has the potential to be a real snoozer but then again scott may not be able to pump that jab the way he wants to when heis up against a man 6'7. Interesting match up but from what I have seen wilder wouldn't be able to box with scott at this stage.
i tend to agree on your views as well. wilder seems to lack fluidity and variety in his punches and usually looks for the home run. he's been succesful in doing that against B and C class opponents. scott's movement and defense would create a lot of problems for him. scott is 6"4 himself with a long wingspan which could probably offset the 6"7 wilder hence his jab could still be a deciding factor. the only way i see wilder winning is through a hailmary type of punch..:bbb
Wilders defense consists of going straight back before an opponent can load up a shot. Malik is fast enough to land jabs on Wilder all night. Wilder will get frustrated being hit and not even being allowed to throw. After about the 3rd, he'll begin thinking about that 100-90 scorecard he's going to be handed and he'll forget to drop back before Malik throws. One thing Malik does very well is hook of the jab. His power is not great by any means, but it stopped Glaskov in his tracks every time he touched him with it. That said, Rd 4 opens..... Wilder swinging wildly with the R hand. Winging L hooks over Scott who is curling under Deontays weight on the ropes. Ref separates them. Wilder comes forward and eats two, three, 4, stiff jabs. His nose is beginning to bleed. Wilder again leads with a R hand, grazes Scotts L ear, Scott holds. Wilder pushes off, winds up a R hand, Scott counters quickly with a L hook........Wilder buzzed, Scott winging crosses and hooks, Wilder flailing across the ring. Wilder on the ropes, Scott digging down tot he body, a straight R hand, clean and flush on Wilder jaw.....Wilder down....Wilder down.......1,2,3..........10.....your out............ Malik Scott has shook up the world.dealdeal
I understand Deontay's competition hasn't been great, but some vastly underrate his ability. I think he wrecks Price...if that Thompson shot has him on life support, Imagine what a right hand from Wilder would do. Wilder is fast in his right, and has a good jab as well. Good fight
I didnt see may of Wilder's fights but from what I see he definitely looks like hes more than just a big ass guy who can punch, he seems to have some pretty good skills. I cant wait to see him step his competetion up
Malik Scott impressed me. I think his boxing skills are vastly superior to Deontay Wilders, Deontay however, might have the physicality to really trouble Malik. Great matchup, one I'd like to see happen sooner rather than later.
Scott beats Deontay. Deontay isn't ready for a HW in his prime yet, especially the most highly skilled one in the game.
