yes.....the photo shows Scott still touching the canvas at 8......but he was in the act of rising, as you can see. "Scott, for whatever reason, did not get up in time.".....incorrect....when the ref said "9"....when the very sound of "9" came out of his mouth....at that exact moment, the only part of scott that was touching the canvas was the soles of his feet. look at this a few times... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMSRprNtSZQ now...a few people have argued, and maybe correctly, that when he got up was not the main factor here....that it was the ref not thinking he should go on regardless of where the count was at.....i.e. if he got up at 6 the ref may still have waved it off after seeing something in scott that he thought meant he could not go on. thats a maybe for me that one. .
Scott was not in the least bit bothered by being counted out. Stop making this into something it is not. If the fighter doesn't care, neither should we. He got up as it was expected of him, but clearly didn't wish to go on.
still don't think Chisora is as good as people think he is. he was been outboxed and his only strategy was to walk forward and throw wild shots at Scott.
Chisora needs to fling his jab out more. Too much walking forward not throwing. He won't win rounds walking onto shots only to then grab hold of his opponents. Wrestles too much for me.
what did I say about British stoppages, although I have to say Scott didn't look like he could be arsed and in the post fight interview came across as if he didn't care and was there for the pay check.
Premature stoppage, ref was in FWs pocket,Chisora was getting outboxed and would have lost a decision had it gone to the cards.Fairplay to Scott he didnt shout his mouth off after the fight and had obviously succumbed to the fact that he had been done and there was nothing he could do about it.
Scott knew he was going to get roughed up if it went to the cards but he did beat the count but was smart in taking 9 to clear his head but the ref stopped it while he was clearly up on steady legs quite a contrast to the way Lennox was on shaky legs vs McCall but the protest has not stopped on that one Hometown Ref for sure...I dont think much of Malik and not too much of Chisora but sad to see this in Boxing
