It has plenty to do with other fighters since Wilder isn't the only fighter to do this. For some reason you think Wilder is the first to employ this practice. I'm just helping educate you and prove that he wasn't. Its obvious you dislike Wilder. That cool, I'm not to big on him myself. But lets not pretend to live in make believe land and ridicule just one fighter for this, it makes it seem like you have an agenda. As far as my avi goes....I didn't put the original up. Curious what that has to do with this conversation though?
I don't know much about Wilder, I remember him from the olympics and I haven't really followed him up to now. He looks like he has some good power on his right hand and I like most of the clips I've seen of him. Of course all fighters face poor opposition when they turn pro. My point is that his competition in that fight in particular was a special level of bad, his opponent could barely walk he was so obese. I've never seen an olympic level fighter face someone that poor, and my main gripe was that he was showboating against him which I was equating to showboating against a heavy bag. I don't care that much, I was just making a comment about that video. Why you decided to bring up Wlad still beats me. You obviously have an agenda.
How can I have an agenda against a fighter I rank 16th all time in his division and have little doubt he'll break the top 10 by the time he retires? My only agenda against Wlad is his crap era and he bores the **** out of me.
I don't know ffs, you were the one who mentioned him for no reason out of all the boxers in the world and has a picture of his brother in a dress. You've got the Klit brothers on your mind for some reason, I was talking about Wilder and Wilder only.
I already explained this. I used him as an example because he was an Olympic medalist and the current heavyweight champion. I understand you were talking about Wilder, I was just pointing out he is not the first up and comer to go this route and you've gone off on a tangent like that should have never been brought up. Get over it my man, its not that big a deal.
atsch It's you who went off on a tangent about Wlad, I just made a comment on the video of Wilder fighting and taunting a man who makes Butterbean look like he's in tremendous physical condition. I'm done, you can go back to your Klitschko fantasies.
I'd say Scott would totally outclass Wilder at this stage. He wouldn't necessarily KO him, but he has the potential to make Wilder look really bad and that could psychologically be very detrimental to his development as a fighter. Sparring is fine. Malik would do Wilder all sorts of good, and hopefully polish off some of the rough edges, but as an opponent in the ring? Nah. Too much too soon. Wilder needs guys like Zack Page and Jason Gavern, then someone like Dominick Guinn or Fres Oquendo before he moves into the big time. He needs to learn what it feels like to go more than four rounds and have his hands raised at the end of a hard night.
Yeah, but better late than never. Trouble is Wilder and his team are acting like they're already at the stage of a Fury or a Pulev where they can now challenge the top dogs. Wilder's lack of stiff competition means he's a long way behind those guys and needs to adjust his short term expectations accordingly. I've no problem with fighters taking it slow so long as they're aware that they're taking it slow.
Ray Mercer started at 25, he was a US Amateur champion by 1988 and qualified and won the gold at the olympics the same year at 27.
