    On the money.

I don't think Paulie was taking THAT kind of a beating that would make someone think it was dangerous for him in there. Buddy probably did it cause he saw Malignaggi had accepted defeat, which is respectable in a way, but the fight wasn't that close to a TKO or KO, imo.

    Yep, agreed.

Now that you mentioned it, I was shocked to see Chambers just stop fighting midway through the bout vs Povetkin. He was doing great early on.

I haven't seen the fight yet. But a Buddy Mcgirt fighter getting totally dominated, imagine that! Mcgirt's win % in big fights is about the same as Teddy Atlas at picking fights.

I bet Atlas picked Paulie? I would be shocked if he didn't.

Despite Buddy's age, I'm pretty damn sure he'd still beat the **** outta Paulie in a street fight.

And McGirt in his prime was a faaaaaar better fighter than Paulie.

Paulie got sound advice from his corner, he did not listen, an he lost, no he wasn't going to be stopped, no the beating he was taking was not somthing to fear, but who cares paulie wants to not listen to his corner, he the one that deserves his nose broken, sence the over-rated couldn't do it , maybe mcgirt should,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the only person who should break mcgirt nose is gatti for banging his wife

The timing didn't help, it was pretty out of the blue. Though to be honest, if Paulie wanted to finish the fight so badly, he should have thrown some punches. Its pretty easy to resign to copping a beating and claiming you fought like a warrior, its another thing really giving your best and throwing against adversity.

Hatton had rocked him at the start of the round, and he was all over Hatton hugging and Hatton was just moving him into position to bust him up again. I counted at least 4 times where Malignaggi was stunned during the fight, including the right hand in the second that had him stumbling. He was getting beaten every round and taking hard punches.

I completely agreed with the stoppage. Paulie wasnt doing anything, was taking A Lot of punishment, and frankly I wouldnt have been surprised if Hatton had stopped him in the 12th.

your absolutely right, he wasnt close to being ko'd, but paulie wasnt really doing anything except taking a bunch of shots. chances are he doesnt come out of the fight with brain damage if he finishes the 12 rounds, but theres still a possibility. i dont think mcgirt wants to live with something like that for the rest of his life.
