Starts at about 6.30 [yt]FTZER0Zdig0[/yt] He honestly thinks Munroe will beat Dunne! What a nut, Dunne would honestly box rings around Munroe. 150k for Dunne to go over and fight in the UK at a little school hall??? Is Maloney smoking something? If it happens, its in the 02 in Ireland or somewhere that will hold even more than 10k in Ireland. Dunne is the Champion, he is by far the bigger draw, Munroe if he wants a fight fights on Dunnes terms and cant call the shots. Munroe "Frank i could have beaten both of them tonight" :rofl Ok so Munroe, fight Cordoba in one of those shity little school gyms you fight in and see what happens:good
i think dunne and peters would be mad not to take this just to shut maloney up and put him in his place . munroe is a tidy little boxer but dunne is a level above which he just proved last week
Yeah Munroe would beat both of them, easy to say that sitting at ringside! Dunne should go for a bigger fight than Munroe imo. While we are on the subject, does anyone know who Munroe is fighting for the commonwealth title?
unroe and Dunne is the fight that needs to be made now for both men. They've built up a nice little rivalry and are now both in the top 10 of arguably the toughest division in boxing. Now is the time to make it. Seeing as Dunne is "world" chap and is the bigger draw, Munroe should be travelling over to fight him. He obviously knows what the scorecards were in Dunne-Cordoba so it's not as if he'd be treated unfairly.
It's a decent bout. Dunne is champ but Munroe beat Martinez twice and is holding a legitimate belt. For the right price it should happen.
Dunne would beat Munroe no problem i think, and maloney offer of 150,000 to dunne to fight munroe in england is an insult to dunne as world champ, considering he earned more as euro champ
It's the fight I've wanted to see for quite a while, Now it could be for a World Title, Makes sense for both fighters but i think Brian Peters will look for a bigger fight for Dunne.
I was impressed with the class shown by Maloney on todays show. To say Saturday was the best atmosphere he'd ever experienced was some compliment. (Lewis-Ruddock etc?)
maloney said that the fight could sell 30,000 in ireland, and it was the biggest fight out there. :think irish posters...how popular is dunne - what kind of crowd could he realistically attract?
Dunne can pull some crowds and now that he has the belt, he could easily get 30,000, but I don't think the average Irish person knows or cares about Rendall Munroe (no offence), a Dunne V Martinez rematch would be a lot easier to sell. I know on here a lot of people want to see Dunne V Munroe, but I think Maloney is overestimating the pulling power thaat the whole grudge match element has for the average Irish punter, like I said if you asked a guy on the street if they would like to see Bernard Dunne V Rendall Munroe, they would most likely say, "Rendall who?"
Surely he is the most popular Irish fighter at the moment now. He got over 9,000 for his world title fight and the same amount for the Martinez fight I believe, so I believe he could get 25,000, Munroe could get 5,000 (if the fight is publicised right) so I think 30,000 is possible.
Rendall Munroe, the man who defeated Martinez twice, the same guy who knocked out Dunne in one round. That is all the Irish fight fan would need to know to get interested in this fight, plus the whole Ireland vs England thing.
