Maloney hoping to get Olusegun WBC eliminator

Thanks Top Dog. Bradley is impressive however we want the very best as that makes the victory sweeter. I am not going to waste our time on Witter any longer as he could have had the fight anytime he wanted in the last 6 years but clearly does not fancy it. Witter likes to fight genuine underdogs but he made a mistake against Bradley.

By the way what is the story with Scott Harrison now as before the problems I thought he had the opportunity for superfights with the likes of Guzman, Pacman, Barrera etc. I have always thought the potential was there for him and Alex Arthur to have a superfight down the line though not quite sure where both kids are right now.

 

Shame that Elder Witter does not share your opinion otherwise he would have taken the contest the numerous time it has been offered. If you really thinking the Wright fight was even 5% of what Olusegun has to offer then both Bradley and you are in for a rude awakening.

To be honest I was just winding Olu up a bit cos he picked that wee fraud Hamed to give Scotty a spanking, he had to be told in no uncertain terms if you take down Scotty Harrison, then I turn from being your best friend into your best enemy

****, I know Scottys a madman now who threw it all away, but I still have a soft spot in my heart for him, I cant help it.

As for Olu, dont worry my good man, I still love ya! I just got a dark sense of humour but I forget sometimes that its a scottish sense of humour that doesnt come accross on the forums well, people always take everything I say too seriously!
It was just bit of banter from my good self, cos I was & still am Scottys no1 fanboy! I dont discuss him much nowadays, but all I can say is, I feel the same way about Scotty as fan as you do about Olusegun. Thats how I sum it up best.

Anyways, I got me & my pals supporting Ajose now, its great having one non-scots fighter to cheer on! Olusegun is still an adopted scot in my book:good

Awright Dunky I know your a wind-up merchant, but the some folk still cant tell if your pulling their chain or not I you'd asked me who would win between Harrison and Hamed in a square go, I would have said Scott all day long:hey All you would need to do to get this fight happening is go to Scotts house nad tell him Hamed was bad mouthing him, the wee man would go down and bust him, in his own front garden as well:good

 

hamed was way to small for Scotty, the teak tough tartan terror would have chewed him up & spat him out. hamed had to run like a chicken cos he couldnt trade with Wayne McCullough, & we seen what happened when Wayne traded with Scotty:deal

Only way Hamed would hve beat Scotty was by running like he did against McCullough. In a slugest though, Scotty would have splattered him.
Who would hve thought both would have become a couple of jailbirds though? Funny how life works out.

 

Hmmm... can't see it happening this way from a personal point of view. Maybe if they had a pub brawl, but then again Enzo Mac might have "punched a hole in Haye's head" like he promised if those two had fought a pub brawl! This is Marquess of Queensbury rules though. When you consider that Scott had trouble landing on a very faded Medina and Victor Polo and had to take plenty in return, I don't see what he's going to do with Hamed. In the end, he decided on a strategy of just walking through everything Medina threw to get the job done. If he tried that lark with Hamed he would be leaving on a stretcher!

Hamed is twice as fast as him, a southpaw (I don't think Scotty faced too many of them if ever), unorthodox, hits like a mule with both hands and has the footwork to avoid Scotty's charges. He certainly wouldn't "stand and trade" in the sense of "you hit me I'll hit you" where Harrison's size and physical strength come into play, but I could see Hamed's fast, unorthodox, bewildering shots peppering a frustrated Harrison, swelling his face and bringing about a stoppage around 8-11 rounds. As stated earlier, IMHO this is not a good fight for Harrison for a stylistic perspective.

You make a fair argument there, & that could have happened. I cant argue that hamed achieved more than harrison before both retired, isnt it a crying shame that both retired long before their sell by date though?
They have left so much more questions than answers by being assholes(in different ways) outside of the ring & not fufilling their destinies(sorry for getting all Star Wars there) if you know what I mean.

Last I heard of Scotty was that someone in the jail who decided he was going to be Scottys minder got up & told everyone who was listening "you **** with Scotty, you **** with me!"

The cons took offence to the wannabe minder, & the guy got attacked whilst he was sleeping & was nearly stabbed to death. The guy was hospitalised & in a bad way, thats the last I heard!
It was in the papers up here, take from that what you will!

I think its safe to say Scotty wont be back in a boxing ring ever again.

Will be good news if Maloney can deliver and get Olusegun some meaningful fights. His lack of progress is frustrating and he is having too many 6 round 'stay busy' matches - surely even a defence of his Commonwealth Title would be preferable and better preparation as I think he has only gone championship distance two or three times.

 

Ajose has had stay busy fights for about four years but yes a couple of meaningful fights would be good in the build up to a potential eliminator for the WBC belt.

 

I think he needs them - competing in 6 rounders at this stage isn't really doing him many favours. This no risk approach in the lead up to a potential eliminator may protect his WBC ranking but could cost him in the long run should he secure a shot at Bradley.
