They go for the british title because its the best for any fighter on the way up from the north

Northern Ireland is part of the UK - they can say they are Irish all they ****ing like, and technically they are, but they are also British.

I am from Yorkshire and wish the rest of the UK was turned into a car park but I am still British.

Yep. Irish boxing is doing very good and should hopefully get better. The lads you mentioned are good but not being totally sold on the ability of the Hyland brothers. Seen them fight in England and they have scraped a few results against very poor opposition, they have a nice back story though and are sound lads so with abit of luck and good match making they could be around the domestic title scene but definetly no further.

What do you think of a Duddy, Lee and Moore fight merry go round all taking place in Ireland?

I see only one of the Hylands as a good prospect not sold on the others

they are about as english as it gets. Carl Froch's WBC title and Ola Afolabi's interim WBO title definately better Dunne's utility belt. since there are so many fake titles flying around, its best to keep it to lineal/ring belts. in the last 2 years british boxers have held the light-welter, supermiddle, light-heavy and cruiserweight versions. Dont think an Irish guy has ever had one.

yeah i would love to see these fights happen , i think lee beats the lot of them tbh , he is a good prospect but just needs more ring time , he has only fought once in 8 or 9 months . duddy - moore would be a great scrap and i think moore would win on points , duddy seems to fight down to the level of the opponent and he needs to start taking big fights now or they will never happen

Lee needs to get away from Manny Stewart i've seen no improvement in him in his last 4 or 5 fights.

lets get real here lads, yes Irish boxing is on a high, but I don't really see many being top top fighters (i.e p4p top 10) in the future.

Dunne - decent fighter, top 10 in his division, ordinardy WBA champ. Needs to beat caballero or molitor for more reognition, for my money he'd beat munroe)

Andy Lee - decent puncher, has been scuppered by injury but is still one of our best prospects, probably top 20 in his division.

John Duddy - needs to improve immeasurably to be considered for a title shot, still top 20 in the division (only just and its a poor division)

Martin Rogan - granite chin, decent punch, amazing work rate, he'll be looking good if he beats sexton for a possible title shot.

Martin Lyndsay - from what I've seen, solid fighter with a decent punch

Paul Mccloskey - very slick, very quick, and looks top class. Still only at euro level however

Matthew Macklin - our best middleweight in my opinion, would give most fighters a good battle

Darren sutherland- one for the future, but looks good, great jab.

the rest, I don't know enough about!! all in all looking relatively bright, but hardly HOF's

Big ****ing yawn. Why does every Munroe or Dunne thread turn into this ****.

Munroe offered IBF eliminator. Great. Lets see him take it. Lets see him win it and get a world title crack.

If he is still having to do the bins is that reflective of the amount of till he is getting for his fights???? Surely he would have to go full time for a decent World Title tilt?? :yep:yep
