"Mamby vs. Bramble." 1977 vs. '84 version..

Mamby would win a close 15 round majority decision over Bramble.

 

Mamby was the JWW champ during a lot of Pryor's reign at JWW, Mamby tried on many occasions to get him to unify the Title and he would not do it, they nearly had a deal once and of course Pryor's camp somehow got out of it, Why I don't know, except the fact, they tried to keep Pryor champ as long as they could fighting nothing but bums and no names, he fought 2 names, Arguello who was well above his best weight and over 30 and an at the end Cervantes, that's it, at a time the LW division was loaded, and he could not even unify the title against Mamby, I say Mamby wins a UD, during his run as JWW Champ he was at his very best at this time, Pryor should have won, but who knows, Bobby Joe Young beat him, but then again he was clean for a change in that one, Bramble was not as good at JWW as he was at LW.

 

Mamby lost a lot of fights, but during his reign as Jww Champ, he had a very nice streak going, I saw several of his fights during that time and he did not have much if any power, but was an excellent boxer and clearly at his best at his more advanced age than in his youth, he definitely wins a UD as Bramble was not anywhere near the fighter he was at LW. Also many don't realize that Mamby held part of the JWW Title while Pryor held the other part, and that they never fought at all, many claim Pryor to be an ATG, but yet he never even unified the Title in a crappy division at the time, him and Mamby were it, and yet they never fought, Pryor usually avoided power guys, but here he avoided n excellent Boxer, I still see Pryor beating him, but I would like to have seen him do it, but here Mamby takes it over Bramble, now the Bramble that beat Mancini at LW, if he had fought Mamby without worrying about weight, he would have had a better chance, but by the time he moved up he was nowhere near the same fighter as he was at lw.
