Mini has been on here forever, even before he was a Fury fanboy. He’ll still be here.

Let me break the answer into three parts so we can clearly see the separate issues and the timeline of the events.

    1) If it was only about money, it could have been all sorted out. The evidence shows otherwise. Hearn and team Usyk all confirmed it was Fury who asked to fight Whyte instead of Usyk, and following that, Warren duly won a big purse bid for the Whyte fight. If you want to suggest that Hearn, Krassyuk, Egis ( = everyone but Fury) are lying about Fury not wanting to face Usyk, and it was just "Pay Jay" asking for more money to step aside, that means these people were all falsely accusing Fury of ducking – and that's slander.

Slander is a serious crime for which Fury could have sued Hearn and team Usyk worth tens of millions in damages. A false claim about Fury ducking Usyk is not just "mind games" and "fighting talk". The Usyk-Fury bout would have been for the undisputed title and Fury was, according to you and other Fury fans who agree with you, falsely accused of ducking.

Fury is a brand, one could argue currently the biggest one in the division, and a false claim like that would have severely damaged the reputation hence the earning potential of his brand. Does anyone believe Fury or Queensberry Promotions would have let a slanderous and damaging claim like that go unchallenged in court? Arum, Warren, Fury (or any of his team members) never came forward to address the claim that Fury not wanting to face Usyk but demanding the fight against Whyte was not true. And remember how Fury was ready to sue the BBC for that whole Sports Personality thing so you can't claim "oh, but Fury is not the going to court type" either. Does anyone think if Fury was ready to go to court because of some media award, he wouldn't say anything or go to court when slandered about ducking an undisputed fight?

    2) The December fight was never on from August – it was Fury's narrative and he manipulated his fans into believing it. According to the original agreement, which was confirmed by Arum and Warren too, the Usyk-Joshua II bout was to take place on 21st July and, following a roughly five-month break, a Fury fight was to take place sometime in December – but an exact date was never set. When the Usyk-Joshua II bout was pushed back to the 20th of August, it already meant that the five-month break between that fight and the planned undisputed (about which all parties, including Fury, agreed) bout needed to get extended to January.

But as any event manager can tell you planning any sort of big sporting event or concert for January (when everyone is skint after the holidays) is a financial disaster – no promoter would have gone for it. That's why Arum himself confirmed as early as the 28th of August, only days after Usyk-Joshua II, that the target date for Usyk-Fury was for February. This was confirmed by Usyk on the 2nd of September when he gave a press conference in Ukraine. To this, Fury in an Instagram video replied the following: "it doesn't matter if it's December or April or August next year". Fury only changed his "I'll fight you anytime" attitude after this, later on in September, when he realised he could put himself in the position making it look like he was the one pushing for the fight.

But in reality, he started talking about a December 3rd fight date only and only after all this – after Arum already confirmed in August how the undisputed fight was now planned for February and how Usyk confirmed the same. There are no sources from before September where Fury talked about a December fight whatsoever – because it never happened. All parties, including Fury, knew and accepted what the Usyk-Joshua II being pushed back to August meant. As soon as Usyk-Joshua II was not taking place in July, it was known to all parties that the undisputed fight too would be pushed back to February.

    3) So in any case, whatever happened in January/February this year, no matter how we look at it, that still doesn't answer why Fury voluntarily fought Chisora now, and with a known injury that could have got worse by a pointless crash-grab bout. You didn't address this issue at all in your response. The pattern of Fury's actions clearly shows he is very reluctant to face Usyk. Just look at the timeline of the whole Hrgovic thing as further evidence. On 13th November, IBF ordered Usyk to defend his belt against Hrgovic. The following day, Fury stated: "If Usyk actually wants the fight, we'll do that fight next. So, when it looked like Usyk's hands were tied by the IBF, he came forward to say this. The following day, 15th November, team Usyk confirmed that they were willing to do whatever it took to fight Fury instead of Hrgovic. Paying a step-aside fee, dropping the belt, whatever. The following day, only some 48 hours later Fury claimed he was ready to fight Usyk, he said in a BT Sport interview that he had "zero interest in the little ****" Usyk. Meaning, as soon as the Hrgovic/IBF thing seemingly was no longer an obstacle, Fury was back to his middleweight this, midget that narrative.

So, in conclusion: if you want to claim that Fury not fighting Usyk early this year was just about Joshua's greed, you are willing to accept that Fury, Warren, Arum or anyone from team Fury never said a word and just accepted when Hearn and team Usyk claimed Fury clearly ducked Usyk and demanded to face Whyte instead. How likely is that, accepting a damaging and slanderous claim like that, when Fury was ready to sue the BBC about some meaningless media award?

And after whatever happened in January/February with the negotiations, you still have to answer why Fury wanted to fight a meaningless trilogy against Chisora, risking aggravating a known injury, instead of not fighting, having the surgery and healing up for the Usyk bout planned for February.
