Not really impressed with Brett. To me, it's a toss-up between him and Kimbo.

No he isn't; he has no pedigree in any martial art and would likely be ktfo by Kimbo, who is on a similar level only with better coaching etc

If they are so similar why did Rogers KO Thompson in less then 2 minutes and Kimbo go life and death.

That is because Rogers has more power than Kimbo. When Rogers caught Thompson clean, the fight was over. Thompson was bullying Rogers all over the cage before he was stopped. You can't say that Rogers displayed a brilliant array of technique and dominated Thompson. Rogers was getting beat up and then knocked Thompson out.

Kimbo actually looks like he has more of a skill set than Rogers. Rogers has more power in his strikes and better stamina at this point. Kimbo seems to have a good chin and a lot of heart. Rogers appears to be resilient and knows how to wait for the moment to unleash those heavy hands.

Kimbo would probably outscore Roges for however long the contest lasts, and possibly earn a stoppage in the first 2 rounds. I just have a feeling this fight may make it to the 3rd, Kimbo would gas out, and Rogers would win by impressive knock out. I believe Kimbo's people are correct in giving him a couple more fights before facing Rogers. Until his stamina increases, Kimbo will not be able to get past the level he's currently fighting at.

Kimbo does have horrible stamina.Could be the death of him unless it drastically improves.

A fighter that bases most(dare i say all) of his attack on strikes needs to have stamina or his blows will feel like being hit by a pillow by the end of the first round.

Rogers is as green as Kimbo and a sloppy fighter to boot. I think Kimbo's punches are much crisper. A match between the two seems like a natural - but the long and the short of it is this -

who the hell is Brett Rogers and would anyone care to see him fight?

Every time I see The Grim Rogers fight I think - UFC 5 is calling. . .

I agree that Rogers is sloppy. His technique is not as good as Kimbo, and he has fewer skills to boot. However, Rogers appears to be more relaxed allowing him an edge in stamina. Rogers may also have the edge in hand speed to go along with his harder punches.

Once Kimbo shows me the ability to go 3 rounds without looking like me trying to run a mile and half, I'll be a little more confident in picking him to defeat Rogers. As I stated earlier, Kimbo's offense may be enough to finish off Rogers before he gasses out. I said that Rogers looks resilient, but I have yet to see him stand up to the kind of attack I think that Kimbo can deliver. I'm just giving Rogers the benefit of the doubt. The way he shells up and lets his opponents unload before he attacks, he makes me think he wants to be the mma's version of Danny Williams. Rogers just looks like he has no interest in punching like Williams. At 6'5", Rogers looks like he would rather punch like an mma Lennox Lewis.

I'm spending way too much time talking about these lower level guys. I hope one of them becomes something.

You might be right. Perhaps I'm buying into the Kimbo mystique - but I do think he would be too much for Rogers. It's likely to not happen any time soon - so who really gives a crap? :yep

Besides that - it's like arguing whether or not Paul Varelans can beat Larry Cureton. IE: They both suck.

Let's banish this thread and get back to Fedor and Couture. . .
