Byrd did not take flush bombs from Tua .. Byrd exposed Tua's limited skill set against elusive boxers .. Tua rarely landed on him at all ...

I missed the first part of this but are you also arguing against Tyson being a big puncher ?

-Chris Byrd fought over 200 lbs most of his career, however he is not a natural heavy fighter. He began his career under 170 and gradually added bulk. He has been quoted as saying that his natural walking weight is 180 during his prime run, he only beefs up to meet the heavyweight limit.

-Chris Byrd was 194 in his last fight, where he said he feels healthy and the most comfortable at right now in his advanced years. Anything above that has been artifical bulk for some time yet he strangely didn't die when Tua hit him.

-So I suppose your logic is that adding bulk somehow makes one more durable?:lol::lol:

Chris Byrd never really gets the respect that he is due for taking on the leviathans of the recent heavyweight division as a bulked up light heavyweight.

He could be regarded as a latter day heavyweight Tommy Loughran.

Just one example 43 secs, Tua lands a combination that ends with a left hook.

"He got a good left hook to the jaw there..."

    "...that third one landed clean."

Did Chris Byrd's head explode cause he's a natural 180 lber? No, the defense rests.

I'm not arguing against Tyson or Tua being big punchers. They most certainly are. My beef is the idoitic notion that if they connect with a natural cruiser or lighter they will be killed....the facts disprove this.

Don't forget Mongoose..If Marciano adds just one ounce of Bulk..he will be unable to move he will be so bloated.

Chris Bryd fought most of his career at Heavyweight, because he was a heavyweight..........thats a fact. Chris Bryd did not body build, to make it to Heavyweight, he just eate like a normal person.

His best years, where at Heavyweight. Chris Bryd was the Heavyweight Champion of the world.........

He had to eat twice a day, and run like a ****** to make 170 again. Where he was badly weight drainned and performed badly, and at 190+ his career is over. All fighters are going to say, they are comfortable at the weight...! apparantly Chris Bryd felt sorry for some of the guys he was sparring with when he was at 170 pounds, because he was used to fighting heavyweights.

Chris Bryd could'nt even take a punch and 170, what aload of ****.

Fact of the matter is Rocky Marciano was slow and flat footed, and slightly one demensional.

David Tua connects, he's a dead man............David Tua actually had faster hand speed than Rocky Marciano.

    Thats whats funny...

Rocky Marciano was slow as ****, at 185 pounds. Carl Froch had faster hand speed than Rocky Marciano.

Rocky Marciano was 185pounds in his prime, so if we are matching all time great fighters up against each other. You have to match them in their primes.................

He's one of the most overrated fighters in history...

Chris Bryd is a Heavyweight, he fought most of his career at Heavyweight. He did'nt body build or have to pump himself up with steriods, to stay at heavyweight. He nearly died when he went back down to 170 pounds, because he is a heavyweight....Chris Bryd is the former Heavyweight champion of the world.

All i know is, that Rocky Marciano was slow and flated footed, and one demensional.

David Tua, would beat the **** out of him one way or another.

Chris Byrd was an exceptional defensive fighter in addition to being very fast and having a terrific chin .. Bravo that you are cherry picking moments when Tua is able to land a shot. Again, the point is not to say Tua was unbeatable. The point in question is how Tua's style matches up with offensive minded , hitable, much smaller fighters. Are you claiming that Dempsey and Marciano were defensive specialists like Byrd ? If your not your whole argument is a little shaky
