What the **** does that make Tua then??

The man couldn't even win an alphabet strap fighting in an era when names such as Seldon,Bruno,Maskaev,Valuev,Ruiz,Botha,Jones Jnr (great fighter but not remotely a heavyweight) and Rahman all held straps.

You can say he didn't get the opportunites but he choked against Lewis, lost important fights against Byrd and Ibeabuchi, was inactive for extended periods and looked awful and out of shape for a lot of his fights (Rahman 2,Salif,Hawkins).

Yet people constantly reckon he destroys anyone prior to Liston because they're not as heavy and supposedly couldn't handle his awesome power (power which never worked against the prime, decent heavies he faced in Lewis,Byrd,Rahman except after the bell and Ibeabuchi).

Tua was an entertaining fighter but was seriously limited which was partly why his fights were so entertaining. He was a good chance to be outboxed as well as also being a punch away from scoring a knockout but that doesn't make him close to a great fighter.

People constantly saying he'd destroy greats like Marciano,Charles,Patterson etc based on beating up a green Ruiz and a shot Moorer (who were never that good to begin with) is why he's one of the most overated fighters of all time.

To be fair Tua is way past it right now, so to make any kind of conclusion based on tonights fight is pretty lame.

Look by Aus/NZ standards the man is awesome and I don't think either country has produced as good a Heavyweight (unless you count Fitzsimmons or Peter Jackson) but he gets rated a tad high when you have people saying he stops guys like Marciano or Louis in couple of rounds.

I sound like a hater which I'm not.He is a nice, classy guy who was a very good puncher, who carried his power late and was very entertaining to watch. He just always fell a little short of elite status in the time he fought and it annoys me that some reckon he walks through the elite of yesteryear just because he scored some highlight reel KO's against some lesser lights.

This statement is irrational ... Marciano was far from slow ... that is a myth ... his speed was above average ...

I shouldn't be able to cherry pick moments if Tua never hit him. God, the level of stupidity on this forum....:patsch

His punches had mere inches to travel. It would almost be impossible for them to take long to reach their targets. And he was fairly clever and shifty in how he set them up.
