He's 1 for me. Who do you have first? I don't hold past prime fights against a guy. His effort against Lewis clinched it for me.

Marciano - retired for 5 years

Ayala vs Yori Boy was an awesome fight in my opinion an underrated classic.

What did they all do in their primes though? Shitload more than the terribly overrated Tua anyway.

Tua beat 2 linear champions, 4 champions total and going 51-3-2 while being 1 of the most devastating punchers in HW history.

To the Rocky and Dempsey nuthuggers, he still KO's your boy brutally prime for prime :yep

I thought people were more intelligent and less obviously pathlogically biased than this, Tua is a shot fighter. Tyson doesnt get his whole legacy derided for losing to Kevin McBride, Tua is probably at the Williams-Tyson stage right now.
Having followed his career since pre Ruiz, I could see from the first bell that he was done, its his timing mostly, and his punch resistance and motivation which is probably just the money he is so short of.

Tua's best was under Lou Duva's guidance when he beat genuine big name contenders up to 1998, after that Kevin Barry got his claws into him and changed him into a fat, less conditioned and far less active one-trick pony.
And now 10 years on hes just a mentally and physically done fighter.

To use this latest fight as a yardstick is the ****ing stupidest thing

Yes janitor, I now agree with you completely and I feel silly that I said he's better than Arreola.

He means the current top 10.

This tgread does not discredit him? SQ is rating Tua's all time status vased on a fight a age 37. Reaffirms what everyone already knew ? Discrediting Tua's power and chin .. the whole thread is weak and anyone with common sense knows it.

Tua's at least 10 years past his prime, and he looked clearly washed-up 5 years ago, so I dont know why you were expecting something "great". :-(
