Why do you always do this? You slag a fighter off and then finish it up with "But I like him", as if to make your post seem non-biased?

The first part of this statement (the loss to Barrett) does nothing to prove or support the latter. He is a shot fighter who got taken by b-level fighter. It happens to all guys who stay to long in the game.

Few to none sub-6 footers beat either Klit head to head. So, no great mystery there.

SQ is making a cheap point, but Tua's entire history proves that he's not on a level that some would like to think. People think because of his style, stamina, and chin that he's competitive with Tyson and Frazier. We all know he was not difficult to out-box.

You were right. Tua would have trouble landing on a prime Frazier cleanly. And would certainly hate his body shots.

Certainly doesn't do that with Vitali.

It actually was, if memory serves it was an after dark broadcast one of the first. It was a double header with Aaron "Superman" Davis fighting on the undercard against Jose Luis Lopez. I have watched that Tua fight many times!!

Tua was a much better fighter in his Prime then he was last night. All though I do agree that he has always been a bit over rated. He had legitimate KO power a rock jaw and good stamina, how many heavyweights of recent years off the top of your head had as many late comeback knock outs as Tua? Not many, he could have for sure been a champion in some eras he just fought against a Prime Lewis and that was to heavy a task. I mean the guy has wins over Heavyweight Belt Holders like Ruiz, Rahman, Moorer (well past his prime here) and Maskaev.

Tua's height at 5"9 was fine it was his sub-par conditioning that would put him at a disadvantage vs the Klitschko's. If this man was fit he may not have been so slow. His power was natural but I think he could have been in better condition. He had late power but his pace was slow and lethargic at times. I am not talking about now, I mean vs Wooden, Rahman II and Byrd. Lets face 250lbs hurt his stamina more importantly, his pace

The thing I have a hard time with Tua, is that in the era of ABC titles, he failed to win 1 of the biggies like the WBA, IBF, WBC, and Wbo. Hell Ruiz was able to win that WBA title about 2 times about.

I cant relly put Tua with the elite fighters of all time, IE there is no way Tua is getting rank over say Dempsey, Ali or Marciano so to speak.

I think he is over rated in a H2H sense. Sure he has a great shot in beating any other brawler that comes in his range, but I would not make him the favorite over Marciano or Dempsey imo.

Tua was in bad shape. He cant fight every six months. He couldnt when he was young and he cant do it now. He also doesnt look 237, he looks like hes 257. No head movement, not enough punches. He really needs to stop fighting if hes not going to do it right.

His head movement was fine, he was slipping punches good. His stamina is ****, as is his timing and sharpness. He can't explode and fire punches off the way he used to.

C'mon guys, Tua at 38 is completely shot and nowhere near his prime. I'm not a Tua worshipper but let's be real here. To judge how Tua would do against past fighters based on THIS fight is ridiculous and we should all know better.

Tua is not shot. Shot would have been an uncharacteristic one sided shut out knockout. Tua performed like he always does against guys who have a little boxing ability, only hes in poor shape and older. Barrett was inspired to end his career on a good note and he came in good shape ready to fight, so kudos to him.
