I am starting to agree with you:D

But, the biggest problem is no one knows who the top 10 is and there are too many unproven fighters in the top 10. Tua has always been inconsistent and had poor stamina. I dont think he would be 0-10 against the top 10 of this time, there just are not enough good fighters around. But, he certainly wouldnt be 10-0 either.

Knowing boxing Tua will come back from a Foreman/Stewart like performance and have some good solid wins because of his combination of chin and power.

Thats boxing for you, never ever easy to predict, usually the opposite of what is considered common sense is turned on its head.

David Tua is not in his prime, he would smash 190 pound Rocky Marciano to bits.

If David Tua connects with anything weighing 190 pounds, its dead.

Be real with yourself, Mike Tyson is a different story. But these small old school black and white fighters, would all be dead up against Mike Tyson and David Tua.

Monte Barrett did not beat up David Tua, for 95% of the fight. David Tua was beating down Monte Barrett who was fighting to survive..!!! the look on his face in the corner, between rounds...........

Was like he was being molestered....

    He did'nt win the fight...!

Is that because Tyson and Tua are such absolute giants, themselves?

I'm having a hard time with Tua. I think Pusnuts was bang on when he noted the two different Tuas: Duva and after.

With Duva he was lighter, faster and patient (not so patient he let fights constantly slip away though). After he was a fat lumbering hook machine that knew one punch. Chris Bryd clowned a trim, fit and ready Tua. A ****ing swelled middleweight embarassed him

Tua could be an explosive machine (Ruiz), a Ray Mercer like, trenches brawler (Ike), or a plodding, one tricky pony who couldn't slip a punch to save his life (Lewis). The problem is he never seemed to put the best parts of himself together (power, patience, chin) enough to neutralize the worst (slow of foot, zero head movement, no jab)

Trouble is Tua's never been a shadow of the fighter Foreman was.

your right Tua didn't look in shape to me but Barrett did he looked in great shape I don't think Tua took the fight as seriously as he should have maybe after all he has been through he just doesn't have it in him anymore. Barrett also fought the right fight for Tua you have to move so he can't get set to through his bombs.

I would love to see Tua vs Old Foreman, it would be the "Battle Of The Frazier, Tyson, Marciano & Dempsey Destroyers!"

Chris Byrd began his career under 170....

And yes, he connected with Byrd.

I guess using modern training, Byrd added 30 lbs to his jaw.

    Mongoose,

Don't forget! Marciano can no way shape or form be above 189lb. If he decides to use modern supplements/eat better nutrition diet/weight lift and puts on 1lb...he will be balooned to the point of looking like an inflatable doll and will be unable to physically box around the ring, and might have to be carried off in a stretcher.

Tua hit harder than an old Foreman. George wouldn't be able to bully Tua. And their weights would probably be about equal.

91 Foreman beats your precious Tyson. That Foreman would've KOed this Tua inside 5 rounds. Crazy for you to even make that comparison. Foreman was a 2 time HW, a man who was in his 40's and more successful in that era than a young Tua was. Tua never won anything, and this Tua isn't close to being a belt-holder or top 5 HW in this HW era...

Having seen the whole thing now, I have two points to make.

1). I had it 114-112 Barrett. Tua's twelfth round meltdown cost him the win, it should've cost him the draw.

2). Tua was winning but totally gassed after the sixth round. Doesn't speak well of his current condition, a younger Tua (not even a prime one) either finishes the job in the 4th or closes stronger/gets the knockout in the second half.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

If Tyson had fought Foreman instead of the more dangerous & higher ranked Ruddock in '91, then I'd simply hope the huge payday would comfort George after the hellacious beating he would have received.

The only versions of Tyson that lose to old Foreman are the 2001, 2002, 2004 & 2005 shot zombie ones.
