Marciano would pulverize the CW version of the guy in your avatar (And mine). Hell he probably could've taken the HW version.

But he gutted it out and got the win.Tyson got schooled by Douglas,Holyfield and Lewis and guess what?? He got knocked the **** out every single time. His so called technical superiority didn't help him in these fights did it?

Which is why to this day Tyson fanboys still ***** and moan about Holyfield giving him a few taps with his head and use it as a excuse for both losses.

Funny, the majority of guys he fought looked like they were drunk by the end of the fight.

    But you are.

 Sure a guy who was twice schooled by a hack like Rahman, was hurt to the body and whipped by feather-fisted Chris Byrd, floored by Monte ****ing Barrett and **** his pants against Lennox Lewis "kills" Rocky Marciano. What did you say about not trying to be funny??

Tua was/is a one trick pony.Great left hook and great chin (make that two tricks) but just because he's the same height and fatter in no way does he compare with a true great like Marciano.

I know it's cliched to say a fighter "doesn't like to the body", nobody does, but the way Tua reacted to bodyshots from Byrd and Lewis makes me even more skeptical of his chances against the likes of Tyson & Frazier.

He was a dangerous hard-hitter however, who carried his power into the late rounds, and was always a favorite of mine.

He gave us some highlight reel knockouts, and was also involved in two excellent HW fights against Izon and Ibeabuchi.

Has the TS not seen enough of Tua's chin in the past to make a judgement? Chins can get worse we all know that... one dimensional, crude, plodding. You can say all these things about David Tua but he had a great chin, ferocious power and very good late round stamina which he has also lost... it's the end of the road.

2 good posts indeed but I may add and correct , Tua is 38 , and while I can
see him KOing a prime Barrett in 1 or 2 , I can also see him going the 12 rounds distance in a close decision fight against him like he had to against Jeff Wooden.
    at 38 :
Ali was stopped by Larry Holmes.
    Holmes was destroyed by Tyson.
    Tyson was TKO'd by McBride.
Norton was stopped in 1 by Cooney in that age not to mention Cooney hit him while he was down.

at 37 : Liston was KO'd by Leotis Martin.
    Louis was TKO'd by Marciano.
at 33 : Holyfield was TKO'd by Riddick Bowe (after lasting the distance twice against him when younger).

People excuse Moorer's defeat to Tua for him being shot while he was 35 at the time , but Tua did hit him while down.

People even excuse Foreman's defeat against Young in him being past it then while he was 28 then.
They blame Cooney's defeat by Spinks on Cooney being shot while both him and Spinks were 31 then.

I watched all of his fights you mentioned in that post and then some more , and I don't know what's the buzz of him being hurt to the body in these fights is about , some myth which youtube links can not prove , I watched the fights in these links and there was nothing special about it .

And in addition to it I also still think a prime Tua stops prime Dempsey, Marciano and Frazier.

Tua could destroy everyone whose chin was reachable enough for him and it includes Tyson , Frazier , Marciano , Liston , Dempsey and Tunney.
Remember that Tunney was KO'd by Dempsey and Dempsey never legitimately KO'd Sharkey.
In Tua's discredit I can mention he never beat Rahman and did not legitimately KO Moorer , but then again , he never lost to Byrd nor to Ibeabuchi. He did lose to Barrett , whom is older and even more shot than himself though , and probably to Rahman in their second fight after never winning their first.
His loss to Lewis is overrated because it is nor as lopsided as some make it to be and not a surprise at all .
I never thought nor claimed Tua could beat a Klitschko.
I thought Barrett-Tua was a mismatch before it happened and was somewhat surprised by the outcome , but then again , how do you expect a 5'9" man to reach a 6'2" man without being reached himself ? it does take from the surprise. What adds to the surprise is Barrett being even older and
    more damaged .
Barrett does deserve respect for this achievement and deserves to be considered and remembered as the winner of this fight against a stronger and younger man than himself .
But people here start treating this outcome as if it was a stoppage , which it was not. How many knockdowns got this amount of attention ?
Knockdowns do deserve lots of attention , but only this one does.
Where were you when Ross Puritty won against Tommy Morrisson and got a draw ? and why doesn't Reggie Johnson deserve a win against Tarver and Toney ? Paul Briggs deserves a win (at least one) against Adamek , Montell griffin against Eric Harding and Harding himself over Dawson ?
    Just a matter for thought.

Tua was avoided by those Belts' holders.
Same with Orlin Norris whom got the worst (for him) title holders and even contenders he could ever get and then he was even got robbed of the decision against Tucker in their first fight.
Does it make them any worse than Dempsey whom had to combine a balls blow with a hook to win a fight he was otherwise losing to maintain his title ? not to mention Dempsey ducked black fighters and was KO'd himself , unlike Tua ? Tua > Dempsey.

Ruiz , Maskaev and then some dangerous contenders like Darroll Wilson and Obed Sullivan. And I do think that Tua would have stopped Moorer even if he did did not hit him while down.
Dempsey would have either ducked them because of their race , hit them low and then blow their unguarded head , or just lost against some of them.
Moorer could be decked but he could also rise and hit back.
And Tua would have had plenty of more flashy wins if he was not avoided like he was.

    Exactly , or are you going to judge Ali's , Holmes' , Louis' , Liston's and Tyson's
expected performances according to their fights in this age ?
Tua will at least retire unstopped with robberies at both his favor and his opponents' favor .

No , it is because they (especially Tua) are massively muscular .
