Man, just watched Pavlik Taylor again

Pavlik is so lucky not to have been ko'd. In the second round, after the first knock down, he was tagged again by some wicked Taylor combinations; he was out on his feet and sort of falling over, the only reason he didnt was he kept getting caught in Taylors arms. Its a freaking miracle that he stayed standing.

It just goes to show you. If he had of hit the canvas again I dont think he would have made his way up. And Taylor would be reigning the echalon of the p4p list. Instead he is an 'exposed fraud'. Boxing can be a game of milimeters.

Anyway, watching the first 7 rounds up to the ko, im very impressed by Talors speed and combinations. I actually think he's improved since the Hopkins & Winky fights. He has some defensive holes but if this guy can get his confidence back and work on one or two things, I think he will have a great future.

Taylor UD or late KO in the rematch.

the problem is not taylor's skills, which are btter than pavliks, its his stamina.

If the fights goes past 6 rounds will Taylor run out of gas like he always does

I take Taylor in the rematch too.

Pavlik stuck it out and stopped him in a pretty good fight.

I see another pretty good fight between them - with Taylor coming out victorious this time.

I disagree with you that Taylor has better skills than Pavlik. If he did, he would have finished him in the 2nd round. Kellys skills are underrated by many here. He has excellent punching technique (terrific followthrough on his punches) & with his lanky build, this is where his power comes from. He's smart in the ring & he knows how to hurt people. Once he's has them in trouble, he's one of the best finishers in the sport today.

I don't see why Pavlik shouldn't KO Jermain again.

explain why Taylor would have finished Pavlik in the second round if he had better skills? I mean I don't see the relation. He can have better skills without finishing him in the second round.

at the halfpoint of the fight, Taylor was winning on all scorecards (4-2 twice and 5-1 once) and had a huge knockdown to his credit.

I'm not trying to take away from Pavlik's victory, stamina is a huge issue, especially at the top level. Pavlik has it and Taylor doesn't.

I take Taylor to win the rematch. He gave very close to finishig Pavlick early but his finishing sharpness wasnt quite there. Kelly really was out on his feet there. However, more than finishing, Taylor needs to work on his defence. He just hangs his left hand too low.

At 166 Taylor will not run out of Gas, this is just a battle of who looses to Calzaghe!

Taylor will win the rematch, trust me... Pavlik is being ridiculously hyped up by the ignorant nationalistic white Americans on this forum, his skills are average and he is pretty slow, and he has a shaky chin. Always dangerous, but a big punch cant make you invincible. When the ignorant Americans, (not the majority) on this forum say that Pavlik would KO Calzaghe and anyone else up to LHW on the basis of his 'crushing' KO of Taylor, they forget to mention that Taylor was winning the fight handily and almost Koed him early.

Forget the scorecards, they were bogus. I don't see why you can't understand that Taylor simply doesn't have the quality of ring generalship, boxing technique (including more vareity) & the power to hurt & finish someone like Kelly does. Watch the fight again. When Taylor had KP going in the 2nd, he got wild & spent too much energy for naught. Pavliks stays under control, picks his shots & puts people away.

Its like people here saying that Coorington vs Bika was Fight of the Year. An entertaining fight maybe, but from a classical sense it was very amateurish. Taylor vs Pavlik 1 tops that crap by a mile. Just like Pavlik is a better technician in the ring than Taylor. The proof is right in front of your eyes.

What do you mean 'Pavlik is a better technician in the Ring' than Taylor? Can yuu elaborate on this comment?

Dude watch the second round again. Taylor was a nanometre away from finishing Pavlik. He just kept collapsing the wrong way.

People say he was near death in the 2nd. I don't see it that way. After taking a barrage of punches, Kelly "slumped" forward onto Taylor & went to his knee's & bounced right back up, naturally disappointed. He didn't CRASH to the canvas & bearly beat the count. Thats what happens when your serious hurt. So what if he then "flew" across the ring after the KD. Kelly was off balance when Jermain hit him to send him flying, but Pavlik kept his feet, survived over a minute left in the round & came back strong to take the 3rd round.

And with no more clowning by Kelly in the rematch, I doubt Taylor will get an opportunity like he had in the 2nd round again.
