The man shows beautiful skills, technique and precision in the ring yet despite being relaxed ( or at least looking relaxed) the dude gases faster than Gasnelo, Pascal etc. So i looked up a few of his amateurs fights to see what has changed. Well it turns out nothing changed. Still same great talent, sublime skills, timing, precision etc yet still gassing in 2x4 rounds. check them out. Here he schools Sergei Kovalev https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnNZItrXaOA Here he fights well in the first 2 rounds and then gasses like crazy but still comes out with the win (although with a bit of help from the judges). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upTcsw0KOTg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDTSNJBGkhw Here he beats Danny Jacobs pretty clearly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynDnAItHkiU Anyone else starting to think he has some kind of health problem? I remember reading Novak Djokovic used to gas all the time regardless of how hard he trained, then he found out he had gluten intolerance and starting dominating like crazy. It's a huge waste of talent imo.
yeah, hbo crew mentioned his gassing out issue early on in the fight and he did appear to tire out from the 4th on.
It's such a shame, it's almost criminal that he is a victim of this. He looks complete but I was confused why on earth is he being rather passive..I know it's not easy to be ridiculously active throughout the whole course of a fight against a HUGE middleweight with 7 inch reach advantage over you. If he didn't have gassing issues, he would have been completely up there with Golovkin. Ah well, he's the second best middleweight.
Yeah, it was an awful fight. Korobov is very technical and his body-punches were deadly and awesome, but he gasses so early. He allowed Uzcategui to come back at the end of the round, almost every fcking round. Korbov's punch out-put also isn't that great. I can't see him troubling someone like GGG; although, I can most definitely see him beating Quillin.
Yeah, it's a real shame. If he developed stamina, he'd be one of the better guys at MW. Without the stamina, he's destined for mediocrity.
remember the hype on this guy 5 years ago....saw him live ...fought on pac/cotto undercard....was being hyped quite a bit......and sadly 5 years later he is 31 and fought grady brewer and ossie duran last year.....disappointment
I was very unimpressed, I had high hopes for him but it seems like he's a wasted potential. I think even Quillin (whom I also haven't been impressed with for a while now) beats him.
He had some sort of surgery in the vicinity of his nasal passage to correct a condition that was suppose to be causing his stamina issues. That was two years ago and appears to have had little effect.
http://vk.com/video-53735207_166785929. If this was boring then. These fighters shouldnt please audience actually. They can stay and outbox opponent.
